The Copy Supervisor at OLIVER Agency is responsible for content project planning, investigative research, copywriting, and script writing. This role focuses on storytelling and dramatization of subject matter, working closely with department leads and Data Strategists for content optimization. The goal is to create inspiring and engaging content across all channels, ensuring it aligns with brand and creative strategies, achieves reach and engagement targets, and resonates with target audiences.
Must have:
  • Understand the importance of telling stories.
  • Understand brand & creative strategy and deliver creative and effective output.
  • Responsible for writing, research, and ideation of creative content.
  • Write short- and long-form copy and articles.
  • Create and repurpose content for different usages.
  • Work closely with clients to create strong concepts from initial briefing.
  • Maintain high awareness of relevant trending topics and news.
  • Optimize social media content based on target audience behavior.
  • Understand social media insights and implement learnings.
  • Work closely with internal and cross-functional teams.
  • Set tone and drive creativity, ensuring creative excellence and integrated thinking.
Good to have:
  • Experience of publishing through social media channels.
  • Thorough understanding of how content can play out across multiple mediums.
  • Ability to think video, content, editorial, and be a very ideas/creative person.
  • Good copy hands-on experience, understanding Gen Z.
  • Creative and meticulous in the use of language and data for concise, engaging text.
  • Demonstrated ability to combine and translate complex material into engaging stories.
  • Confidence and comfort working in a fast-paced, changing client environment.
  • A passionate and inspiring writer.
  • Self-motivated, working with little supervision.
  • Collaborative team player, open-minded.
  • Passion for and inquisitive about AI and new technologies.
  • Understanding and knowledge of AI tools is beneficial, but ability to learn is critical.

About the role:

The Copy Supervisor combines content project planning, investigative research, copywriting and script writing. They are experts in story-telling and dramatization of subject matter. The Copy Supervisor works closely with the other department leads on the planning and style of content, and with Data Strategists on content optimisation for search. Their role is to create inspiring and exciting content that achieves reach and engagement targets through all channels.

What you will be doing:

  • To understand the importance of telling stories
  • To understand the importance of brand & creative strategy and deliver output that is both creative and effective.
  • To be responsible for writing, research and ideation of creative and innovative content that brings readership and encourages sharing
  • To write short- and long-form copy and article
  • To create and repurpose content for different usages
  • To combine an authoritative voice and consumer education with comprehensive marketing integration
  • To work closely with clients to create strong concepts from initial briefing
  • To maintain a high awareness of relevant trending topics and news to identify content opportunities
  • Optimizing social media content (language, message, tone) on the basis of the behavior of our target audience
  • Understanding social media insights (reach, engagement etc.), and working with the analytics team to implement learnings and sharpen/better content.
  • To work closely with internal teams, marketing managers and cross-functional teams to create strong concepts from initial briefing
  • To set tone and drive creativity, working closely with agency and client leads to ensure creative excellence, timeliness and integrated thinking on what’s best for the brand.

What you need to be great in this role:

  • 4 years writing in an advertising environment across top-level agencies
  • Experience of publishing through social media channels
  • A thorough understanding of how content can play out across multiple mediums
  • Someone who can think video, content, editorial - very ideas/creative person
  • Good copy hands-on experience - needs to get Gen Z
  • Creative and meticulous in the use of language and data while developing concise, engaging text
  • Demonstrated ability to combine and translate complex material from different sources and contexts into stories and content that engage and resonate with target audiences
  • Confidence and comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing client environment
  • A passionate and inspiring writer
  • Self-motivated, working with little supervision
  • Collaborative team player, open minded – non political
  • Discrete about all confidential and personal information
  • Driven, proactive, helpful, and enthusiastic team player
  • Passion for and inquisitive about AI and new technologies
