Creative Lighting Designer - Interior

Technicon Design is seeking a visionary Creative Lighting Designer to innovate in-car experiences for their client. This role involves designing interior lighting concepts, integrating light into various forms, and developing distinctive lighting signatures and dynamic behaviors. The designer will validate concepts through visualization and deliver compelling presentations and prototypes, transforming light into emotion and storytelling for drivers.

Must Have

• Design interior lighting concepts (ambient, functional, communicative).
• Integrate light into surfaces, materials, and architectural forms.
• Develop distinctive lighting signatures and dynamic behaviors.
• Validate concepts using visualization, simulation, and VR tools.
• Deliver compelling presentations and prototypes.
• Degree in Industrial, Product, Transportation, Interaction, or Lighting Design.
• Proven experience in automotive, architectural, or consumer lighting design.

About the Role

Technicon Design is looking for a visionary Creative Lighting Designer to shape the next chapter of in-car experiences for our client. From subtle moods to expressive interactive moments, you’ll transform light into emotion, character, and storytelling—creating experiences drivers feel as much as they see.

What You’ll Do

• Design interior lighting concepts: ambient, functional, and communicative.
• Integrate light into surfaces, materials, and architectural forms.
• Develop distinctive lighting signatures and dynamic behaviors (welcome/farewell animations, charging sequences, ADAS signals).
• Validate concepts through visualization, simulation, and VR tools.
• Deliver compelling presentations and prototypes for stakeholders and suppliers.
• What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Industrial/Product/Transportation Design, Interaction/Lighting Design, or related field.
• Proven experience in automotive, architectural, or consumer lighting design.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Blender, Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with VR tools.
• Strong portfolio showcasing creativity and execution.
• Hands-on prototyping skills and basic electronics knowledge.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Bonus: Knowledge of automotive lighting regulations, Grasshopper, OLEDs, AR overlays.
