Job Summary
Technicon is seeking a CAS Modeler in Munich to join a leading global automotive OEM's digital modeling team. The role involves transforming creative design ideas into precise digital surfaces and 3D models, collaborating with designers and engineers, and supporting the development of future vehicle concepts from early concept to advanced development phases. The ideal candidate will ensure high surface quality, technical feasibility, and manage multiple modeling tasks.
Must Have
- Develop high-quality digital surfaces and 3D models.
- Translate design sketches, clay models, and concept directions into accurate digital geometry.
- Create and refine complex sculptural forms.
- Incorporate new technologies, materials, and modelling techniques.
- Work across different project phases (early concept to advanced development).
- Ensure surface quality, precision, and technical feasibility.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, visualization, and modelling teams.
- Prepare digital data for design reviews, VR evaluations, and downstream processes.
- Manage multiple modelling tasks in parallel with clear prioritization.
- Apply problem-solving skills to address surface challenges.
- Communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Background in Digital Modelling, Transportation Design, Industrial Design, Computer Graphics, or related field.
- Strong understanding of vehicle design processes and surface development.
- Proficient with CAS tools (Alias, ICEM Surf, Blender, VRED, Unreal Engine).
- Good understanding of materials, manufacturing, and prototyping processes.
- Analytical thinker with high attention to form, surface flow, and quality.
- Structured, organised, and comfortable working within defined workflows.
- Team-oriented mindset.
- Strong problem-solving abilities paired with a creative approach.
- Willingness to work full-time onsite at the OEM design studio in Munich.

Technicon is looking for a highly skilled and motivated CAS Modeler (m/f/d) to support the digital modelling team of a leading global automotive OEM in Munich. You will play an essential role in transforming creative design ideas into precise digital surfaces and supporting the development of future vehicle concepts.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality digital surfaces and 3D models that reflect both design intent and technical requirements.
- Translate design sketches, clay models, and concept directions into accurate, refined digital geometry.
- Create and refine complex sculptural forms in close collaboration with exterior, interior, and CMF designers.
- Incorporate new technologies, materials, and modelling techniques into the digital workflow.
- Work across different project phases — from early concept modelling to advanced development surfaces.
- Ensure surface quality, precision, and technical feasibility while maintaining the creative vision.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, visualization, and modelling teams to support a seamless development process.
- Prepare digital data for design reviews, VR evaluations, and downstream processes.
- Manage multiple modelling tasks in parallel, maintaining structure and clear prioritization.
- Apply problem-solving skills to address surface challenges quickly and creatively.
- Communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to design discussions.
Your Profile
- Background in Digital Modelling, Transportation Design, Industrial Design, Computer Graphics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of vehicle design processes and surface development for exterior and interior components.
- Proficient with CAS tools such as Alias, ICEM Surf, Blender, VRED, Unreal Engine, or similar software.
- Good understanding of materials, manufacturing considerations, and prototyping processes.
