Lead Developer

As a Lead Developer, you will lead a team of up to 5 professionals, fostering a collaborative environment while developing features for the current platform and ensuring timely, quality delivery. Key responsibilities include leading code reviews, enforcing best practices, troubleshooting technical issues, and contributing to continuous improvements in the agile software development process. You will also coach and motivate team members, manage project estimates and budgets, and align with other team leads to optimize output and quality. This role requires challenging the status quo and a continuous striving for excellence.

Must Have

• Lead a team of up to 5 professionals
• Develop features for current platform and deliver objectives on time
• Lead code reviews and enforce best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to deployment and operation
• Contribute to continuous improvements within the agile software development process
• Coach, motivate and stimulate development of team members
• Estimate & plan all work and provide transparent status reporting & budget management
• Align with other team leads
• Have a first experience as a Team Lead
• Have solid experience with the life cycle used in a software organization and software & release delivery
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Have experience with Agile methods
• Document, mentor, and collaborate with clarity and intention
• Stay curious, self-driven, and open to continuous learning
• Have practical experience with Jira
• Well known with Java development
• Know how to use Maven (or Gradle)
• Concepts of containerization, preferably Docker and Kubernetes are well known
• Master and can modify CI/CD pipelines
• Have solid experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Fluent in English
• Be open to traveling to Belgium up to 2–3 times per year

Good to Have

• Knowledge of NodeJS/Typescript/Python is a plus
• Experience with Bitbucket pipelines is a considerable plus

• Lead code reviews and enforce best practices to maintain high-quality code and reduce technical debt
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to deployment and operation, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvements within the agile software development process.
• Coach, motivate and stimulate development of your team members (through on the job coaching, continuous feedback, follow-up interviews, providing training, ...) in order to grow their competences.
• Estimate & plan all work and provide transparent status reporting & budget management
• Align with other team leads, where you share work in progress, identify dependencies, and share best practices And perhaps more than anything, you will need to challenge the status quo. Requirements

• Have a first experience as a Team Lead
