Job Description

We’re looking for a Data Engineer II to join our Investment Data Technology team and help build scalable, reliable data solutions that fuel smarter investment decisions. This role involves supporting data pipelines and integrations, working with ETL tools like SSIS, Fivetran, dbt, and Census, and building data models using dbt and Snowflake. The engineer will also develop reports using SSRS, assist with data hygiene and governance, and optimize SQL queries. The position requires 4-8 years of data engineering experience, a Bachelor's degree, and proficiency in Python.
Good To Have:
  • Advanced degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related engineering field
  • Prior experience of working in Finance domain (Investment bank, Asset Management firm, Hedge Fund)
  • Exposure to large scale distributed applications
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and data warehouses
Must Have:
  • Support data pipelines and integrations
  • Work hands-on with ETL tools like SSIS, Fivetran, dbt, and Census
  • Build and maintain data models using dbt and Snowflake
  • Develop and deploy reports using SSRS

This is an exciting opportunity to work across multiple modern data platforms while supporting business-critical use cases in a fast-paced asset management environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support data pipelines and integrations that power investment data and analytics across platforms
  • Work hands-on with ETL tools like SSIS, Fivetran, dbt and Census to connect and transform data from multiple sources
  • Build and maintain data models using dbt and Snowflake to support investment management and data operations teams from vendor data consumption to analytics
  • Develop and deploy reports using SSRS to serve internal stakeholders including Research Analysts, Portfolio Managers and Risk teams
  • Assist with data hygiene, lineage, and governance practices to ensure consistency and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and optimize SQL queries and pipeline performance

Years of Experience

  • 4-8 years of Data Engineering experience required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related engineering field required. Advanced degree preferred.

Special Requirements

  • Prior experience of working in Finance domain (Investment bank, Asset Management firm, Hedge Fund).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4-8 years of experience in data engineering, BI, or analytics roles
  • Hands-on experience with SSRS, SSIS, SQL, Snowflake, dbt, and one or more modern ETL tools (e.g., Fivetran, Census)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, data warehouses, and investment data concepts
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering, automation and API development
  • Knowledge of Investment Management data domains including Security Masters, Reference data, Indexes, Positions (IBOR, ABOR, trades) and Analytics
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Comfort working in cross-functional settings with business and tech teams
