Job Description
Apps are changing the world and enriching people’s lives, driven by developers dedicated to creating extraordinary experiences that delight customers. Apple’s Worldwide Developer Relations team (WWDR) provides the services, resources and guidance that empowers the world’s most dynamic developer community to push the boundaries of innovation and bring the next big app ideas to Apple’s platforms for customers worldwide. WWDR also offers programs to help developers connect with experts, learn about the latest Apple tools and technologies, and adopt best practices to supercharge app development. Here in Worldwide Developer Relations, we work tirelessly to ensure that developers have all of the support they need to create the apps that impact the lives of all our customers. Join Apple, and help us leave the world better than we found it. We are seeking an exceptional candidate with strong data analytics experience, an aptitude for providing product and operations teams with insights that help identify opportunities and measure success, and a passion for apps and supporting app developers.
In this role, you will support a number of teams within Worldwide Developer Relations ranging from transactional services and support to product and marketing. Experience building reports for support teams to measure their performance, backlog, and outcomes is critical. Data we rely on to build analysis and reporting comes from many teams and sources (and technologies!) across Apple, making this role highly cross-functional. Comfort working with engineering, business, and legal teams is a must. You will need to articulate requirements when new data sets are necessary, and build relationships to understand what exists. Because our team supports Developer Relations, many of the insights we provide come from deep understanding of Apple’s policies, developer tools, and the makeup of apps themselves. This role requires both business-savvy as well as curiosity and a technical mindset.
- 7+ years in a business intelligence, data analyst, or data engineering role.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience building and working with reporting to measure business key performance indicators, and identify issues and opportunities through data literacy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with Trino, HDFS, and other big-data solutions.
- Familiarity with Superset, Tableau, or other data-visualization tools for production report building and maintenance.
- Familiarity with the Apple Developer Program, and the app development and distribution lifecycle.
- Comfort in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and senses direction where it may be unclear, and does so without a loss of performance.
- A passion for process improvement with an approach that encourages innovation, elimination of waste, and efficiency improvements.
- Ability to understand and explain complex business processes, systems, and tools with a specific focus on upstream/downstream impact; understands the relationship between multiple functions and/or tools.
- Experience interacting with software development teams to deliver technical requirements for internal and external facing tools.
- Passion for problem solving and overcoming business challenges in partnership with others.
- Excellent collaboration and relationship building skills.
