Job Description

Electronic Arts is seeking a Development Director for the EA SPORTS FC Mobile Shanghai team. This role involves leading and managing the Central Art Team, overseeing end-to-end outsourcing processes, and aligning project schedules with partners. The director will also manage vendor relationships, collaborate with various teams (producers, designers, engineers, QA), and mentor junior project managers. Key responsibilities include developing production pipelines and ensuring quality control of art assets and co-development deliverables.

  • Oversee end-to-end outsourcing processes, including vendor selection, onboarding, task assignment, quality reviews, and final delivery.
  • Align project schedules, priorities, and milestones with company and external partners.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
  • Manage relationships with external art and co-dev vendors, fostering strong partnerships.
  • Establish clear communication channels, guidelines, and quality standards for vendors.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and feedback sessions with outsourcing partners.
  • Work with producers, designers, engineers, and QA teams to integrate assets and features.
  • Facilitate agreement between creative direction, technical feasibility, and production timelines.
  • Oversee and mentor junior project managers on project tracking, risk management, and partner communication.
  • Support team members' professional growth and performance development.
  • Develop and maintain production pipelines, workflows, and documentation.
  • Review and approve art assets and co-development deliverables.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management within the game industry.
  • At least 2 years managing art teams and outsourcing vendors.
  • Solid background in mobile game development.
  • Experience managing co-development projects, including engineering deliverables.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, Trello, Asana) and asset tracking systems.

Main Responsibilities

Team & Project Management

  • You will lead and manage the our Central Art Team, ensuring delivery of high-quality assets for feature and live teams.
  • You will oversee end-to-end outsourcing processes, including vendor selection, onboarding, task assignment, quality reviews, and final delivery.
  • You will align project schedules, priorities, and milestones with our company partners and external partners.
  • You will monitor progress, identify risks, and proactively implement mitigation strategies.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Manage relationships with external art and our co-dev vendors, fostering strong, long-term partnerships.
  • Establish clear communication channels, guidelines, and quality standards for vendors.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and feedback sessions with outsourcing partners.

Collaboration

  • Work with producers, designers, engineers, and QA teams to integrate assets and features into the game build.
  • Facilitate agreement between creative direction, technical feasibility, and production timelines.

People Management & Mentorship

  • Oversee and mentor junior project managers, providing guidance on project tracking, risk management, and partner communication.
  • Support team members' professional growth and performance development.

Process & Quality Control

  • Develop and maintain production pipelines, workflows, and documentation to keep productivity and consistency.
  • Review and approve art assets and co-development deliverables, ensuring they meet both creative and technical standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in project management within the game industry, with at least 2 years managing art teams and outsourcing vendors.
  • Solid background in mobile game development, with an understanding of both creative and technical production processes.
  • Experience managing co-development projects, including engineering deliverables.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin (both verbal and written).
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana) and asset tracking systems.
  • Passion for games and understanding of current industry trends.
  • Experience working with international teams across different time zones.
