Job Summary
Electronic Arts is seeking a Development Manager for EA SPORTS FC on a 12-month contract, with potential for long-term employment. Reporting to a Development Director, the DM will ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of game features, overseeing project schedules and managing a team of Software Engineers. Responsibilities include anticipating bottlenecks, prioritizing projects, hosting daily stand-ups, improving team efficiency, and managing professional development plans. The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days/week in the Burnaby studio.
Must Have
- Manage a development team (Software Engineers)
- Anticipate bottlenecks and provide management escalation
- Project prioritization, make tradeoffs, balance needs vs. technical constraints
- Host daily stand-up meetings in PST time zone
- Identify team issues and suggest solutions related to execution goals
- Identify task-related processes to improve efficiency
- Ensure project setup meets specifications with Studio, including status reporting and capacity plan updates
- Establish engagement processes, define workflows, document processes, and train staff
- Manage professional development plans and conduct regular one-on-ones with direct reports
- 3+ years of Project Management or Project Lead Experience with production lifecycles, processes and project planning
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Business, or 3D Arts
- Experience working with expansive teams, mediation and conflict resolution
- Comfortable public speaking, talking through solutions and distilling information
Good to Have
- Experience in a Scrum / Agile software development environment (Jira, Slack Automations, Excel, Google Sheet Automations, and Miro)
- Experience with formal communications, publishing reports or partner facing documentation

Reporting to a Development Director, a Development Manager (DM) ensures the delivery of a game feature is on time and within budget. You as the DM will oversee the project schedule and manage the team to achieve a high standard. This team works hybrid 3-days/week from our studio in Burnaby. This is a 12-month contract to start with the possibility of long term employment.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage a development team which generally consists of Software Engineers.
- Anticipate bottlenecks, provide management escalation, project prioritization, make tradeoffs, balance the needs versus technical constraints, and promote initial partner deployments
- Host daily stand-up meetings in the PST time zone and ensure the team is following procedure for work prioritization.
- Focus on the immediate team and identify team issues, and suggest solutions related to execution goals. Identify task-related processes to improve efficiency.
- Ensure each project setup meets the specifications with Studio with regular status reporting and capacity plan updates.
- Establish engagement processes to ensure all workflows are clearly defined, processes are documented, and staff are trained in expectations.
- You will manage professional development plans and conduct regular one-on-ones with direct reports.
Your Qualifications
- 3+ years of Project Management or Project Lead Experience with production lifecycles, processes and project planning.
- Bachelor's degree in any number of related fields including Computer Science, Game Development, Business, 3D Arts.
- You have experience in a Scrum / Agile software development environment (Jira, Slack Automations, Excel, Google Sheet Automations, and Miro) is preferred but not necessary.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$100,000 - $139,500 CAD
