Job Description

The Digital Twin Methods Specialist will integrate into the industrial process engineering department, focusing on deploying Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance Thales's competitiveness. This role involves defining technological standards for industrial digital twins, supervising their implementation, identifying optimization levers for manufacturing processes, and ensuring continuous technological watch. The specialist will support local methods teams across industrial sites in deploying these advanced simulation tools.
Good To Have:
  • Strong interest in flow simulations, digital twins, virtual and augmented reality.
Must Have:
  • Supervise the implementation of digital twins by managing integrators and suppliers to ensure study quality and model exploitation.
  • Identify, capitalize on, and leverage architectural flows to optimize manufacturing processes and product design choices.
  • Propose and implement structuring and development strategies for operational excellence in digital twin activities.
  • Ensure technological watch on digital twin simulation processes and technologies to improve standards and guide solution deployment.
  • Bac+5 degree with successful industrial experience in production flow optimization.
  • Experience in implementing digital twin solutions and/or industrial process digitalization.
  • Good knowledge of aeronautical products and manufacturing technologies (integration, electronics, mechanics, ...).
  • Mastery of production line design and optimization techniques and associated Lean tools.
  • Good knowledge of problem-solving tools (8D methodology, 5 whys, Kaizen, ...) and the APQP approach.

Job Description

The deployment of Industry 4.0 technologies is a major lever for competitiveness for Thales industry. Within the Industrial Process Engineering department, you will join the methods pole composed of about thirty people and become the referent for immersive simulation tools engineering. You will support the local methods teams of all our industrial sites in the deployment of these technologies.

You will be responsible for defining technological standards (industrial twin solutions for factories and production lines, reverse engineering process with 3D factory scan, virtual commissioning, virtual training, etc.) from implementation processes to operation. In collaboration with project teams, relevant business teams, and our partners, you will ensure the validation and effective implementation of these standards.

Your main missions:

  • You supervise the implementation of digital twins by managing our integrators and suppliers to ensure the quality of studies and the exploitation of models.
  • You identify, capitalize on, and leverage the levers on the architecture of our flows to optimize our manufacturing processes, as well as on the design choices of our products.
  • In the development of our activities associated with digital twins, you propose and implement the structuring and development axes to achieve operational excellence.
  • You ensure a technological watch on digital twin simulation processes and technologies with the aim of feeding the improvement of our standards, maintaining a medium-term roadmap, and piloting the deployment of solutions.

Regular travel to our sites and to our suppliers in France and abroad is to be expected.

Your profile

Do you want to use your technical expertise in flow optimization, continuous improvement, and Lean Manufacturing?

Do you aspire to develop or deepen expertise in simulation approaches associated with industrial processes?

You hold a Bac+5 degree with one or more successful industrial experiences in production flow optimization and you have the following skills:

  • Experience in the implementation of digital twin solutions and/or the digitalization of industrial processes?
  • Genuine interest in flow simulations, digital twins, virtual and augmented reality?
  • Good knowledge of aeronautical products and manufacturing technologies (integration, electronics, mechanics, ...)?
  • Mastery of production line design and optimization techniques and associated Lean tools?
  • Good knowledge of problem-solving tools (8D methodology, 5 whys, Kaizen, ...) and the APQP approach?

Do you have real interpersonal skills to lead multidisciplinary teams?
