Job Description

Dungarvin is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to assist individuals with disabilities in a residential group home. Responsibilities include supporting daily activities, personal cares, medication administration, and community integration, ensuring health and safety while fostering independence. The role involves hands-on mentoring and positive direction to help individuals achieve personal goals. Dungarvin is a mission-driven team dedicated to person-centered supports since 1976.
Must have:
  • Assist people with disabilities achieve a variety of outcomes
  • Assist with personal cares and provide normalization/community integration
  • Support and mentorship with daily activities ensuring health and safety
  • Provide medication administration and ensure person's medical well being
  • Successful background clearance
  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Good communication skills (reading, writing, communication)
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Comfortable driving company vehicles to transport persons served

Schedule: Overnight and First Shift available

Wage: $16.00 - $18.00 (on weekends)

Job Description

What You Get To Do:

Working directly as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver, you will be able to assist in a residential group home by assisting people with disabilities achieve a variety of outcomes, assist with personal cares and provide normalization/community integration. The DSP (caregiver) is responsible for providing:

  • Support and mentorship with daily activities to those we support in a manner that ensures their health and safety. Some examples include helping with meals, cleaning, and facilitating fun activities.
  • Hands-on mentoring to those we serve to help them become more independent.
  • Positive direction to the individuals to encourage them to achieve their personal goals.
  • Provide medication administration and ensure person's medical well being.

No experience? If you meet the basic job requirements, we will provide the necessary paid training and hands-on experience.

Qualifications

What Makes You A Great Fit:

  • Excitement for working with adults with disabilities
  • A successful background clearance is required as part of the onboarding/employment process
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.
  • Valid Drivers License (due to transporting persons served)
  • Candidates must be comfortable driving company vehicles to transport persons served as required
  • Some positions / locations may require own personal vehicle and auto-liability insurance based on the role
