Job Summary

The Director, Brand Partnerships will lead the development and execution of strategic marketing partnerships for Universal Music Group's catalogue portfolio. This role involves driving incremental revenue by working with brands and agencies to create integrated marketing campaigns leveraging digital, social, and experiential marketing, alongside new content creation. The Director will be responsible for new business development, account management, and leading a team, ensuring best-in-class entertainment marketing programs and meeting sales goals.

Must Have

  • Help lead and define department priorities, oversee project and team budgets.
  • Drive strategic campaign development & activation of global partnerships.
  • Create, negotiate and manage relationships with key brand partners and agencies.
  • Account manage brand deals for the Brand Partnerships department, including project management from concept to execution.
  • Lead program and project ideation process, guide the packaging and delivery of ideas and new business presentations.
  • Maximize the use of research and insights to create customized presentations and pitches.
  • Proactively communicate with agency, media, digital, and brand industries and prioritize to explore opportunities.
  • Meet & exceed sales goals.
  • Lead, develop, and coach team members, providing real-time feedback and partnering on individual development.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills: Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter with robust Rolodex, able to take initiative with new projects, with ability to make cold calls.
  • Professional demeanor in dealing with clients and co-workers.
  • Ability to collaborate across groups.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed for partner meetings.
  • Experience in strategic/partnership marketing pertaining to music and / or entertainment industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in bringing concepts to life through written presentations.
  • Demonstrated success in driving the new business process from concept and sale through to execution.
  • Experience in media, entertainment, brand and/or agency industries required.
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience.

How we LEAD:

The Director, Brand Partnerships is responsible for working with the Interscope/Capitol Brand Partnerships team in the development and execution of strategic marketing partnerships that drive incremental revenue across identified priorities within our catalogue portfolio of Artists, Content and IP.

The Director will work with brands and agencies to develop integrated marketing campaigns that leverage digital, social and experiential marketing as well as new content creation with the support of media promotional budgets to drive new business.

He/she will help develop new business prospects and contribute to delivering best in class entertainment marketing, content, and event programs for clients.

How You'll CREATE:

  • Help lead and define department priorities, oversee project and team budgets, and communicate project status and goals with senior leadership
  • Drive strategic campaign development & activation of global partnerships with renowned musical artists and respected brands
  • Create, negotiate and manage relationships with key brand partners and agencies
  • Account manage brand deals for the Brand Partnerships department. This includes project management from concept to execution
  • Ownership of program and project ideation process - lead the development of creative concepts and guide the packaging and delivery of ideas and new business presentations
  • Maximize the use of research and insights to create customized presentations and pitches to prospective clients
  • Proactively communicate with agency, media, digital, and brand industries and prioritize to explore opportunities
  • Meet & exceed sales goals
  • Lead, develop, and coach team members, providing real-time feedback, partnering on individual development, handling administrative and managerial matters associated with having direct reports
