The Senior Lifecycle Automation & Marketing Operations Manager will be the hands-on technical owner of lifecycle execution and HubSpot operations. This role involves building, operating, integrating, and optimizing the automated lifecycle engine across email and SMS to improve conversion, activation, retention, and lifetime value, ensuring reliability, scalability, and deep connection to product and data systems. It's a technical role focused on direct problem-solving and optimization.

Must Have

  • Design, build, and operate end-to-end lifecycle programs
  • Personally build and maintain HubSpot workflows
  • Own email and SMS orchestration
  • Serve as primary technical owner and administrator of HubSpot Marketing Hub
  • Architect and govern lifecycle stages, segmentation logic, and data standards
  • Own integration design and reliability between HubSpot and other systems
  • Partner with Data, Product, and RevOps for data accuracy and attribution
  • Own consent management, deliverability, QA processes, and system hygiene
  • Own end-to-end operational QA for lifecycle programs
  • Monitor live campaigns, automations, and data pipelines for errors
  • Troubleshoot issues directly and implement fixes
  • Use analytics tools (HubSpot reporting, Amplitude, ThoughtSpot) for diagnosis
  • Enable high-velocity experimentation
  • 6+ years in lifecycle marketing, marketing automation, marketing operations, or RevOps
  • Deep, hands-on experience owning and operating HubSpot Marketing Hub
  • Proven experience building complex, event-driven lifecycle automation
  • Experience running email and SMS programs end-to-end
  • Strong technical, analytical, and operational mindset

Role Overview

The Senior Lifecycle Automation & Marketing Operations Manager is the hands-on technical owner of lifecycle execution and HubSpot operations.

This role sits at the intersection of lifecycle marketing, marketing operations, and technical systems. You will personally build, operate, integrate, and optimize the lifecycle automation engine ensuring it is reliable, scalable, and deeply connected to product and data systems.

This is not a strategy-only or coordination role. If lifecycle programs, data flows, or automations are broken or inefficient, you diagnose and fix them directly.

What You Will Do

Lifecycle Execution & Automation

  • Design, build, and operate end-to-end lifecycle programs across acquisition, onboarding, expansion, retention, and win-back.
  • Personally build and maintain HubSpot workflows, including:
  • Event-driven and behavioral triggers
  • Branching logic and conditional paths
  • Re-enrollment rules and goal tracking
  • Suppression logic and frequency controls
  • Own email and SMS orchestration, including sequencing, timing, and fallback logic.

Marketing Operations & Technical Ownership

  • Serve as the primary technical owner and administrator of HubSpot Marketing Hub.
  • Architect and govern lifecycle stages, segmentation logic, and data standards.
  • Own integration design and reliability between HubSpot and:
  • Product and behavioral event pipelines
  • CRM and RevOps systems
  • SMS, notification, and messaging providers
  • Partner with Data, Product, and RevOps to ensure accurate event ingestion, identity resolution, and attribution.
  • Own consent management, deliverability, QA processes, and system hygiene.

Performance, QA & Optimization

  • Own end-to-end operational QA for lifecycle programs.
  • Monitor live campaigns, automations, and data pipelines for errors or degradation.
  • Troubleshoot issues directly and implement fixes without handoffs.
  • Use analytics tools (HubSpot reporting, Amplitude, ThoughtSpot) to diagnose funnel drop-offs and lifecycle performance drivers.
  • Enable high-velocity experimentation through clean data, reliable automation, and repeatable frameworks.

Execution Judgment & Systems Thinking

  • Make prioritization trade-offs across speed, quality, scalability, and technical debt.
  • Recommend execution paths that protect long-term system health while delivering near-term impact.
  • Clearly communicate technical constraints, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.

What You Will Bring

  • 6+ years in lifecycle marketing, marketing automation, marketing operations, or RevOps-adjacent roles.
  • Deep, hands-on experience owning and operating HubSpot Marketing Hub.
  • Proven experience building complex, event-driven lifecycle automation.
  • Experience running email and SMS programs end-to-end.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and operational mindset.
  • Subscription, SaaS, or compliance-driven business experience.
  • Experience integrating product event data into HubSpot.
  • Experience with HubSpot Ops Hub, custom integrations, or CDPs.
  • Experience designing lifecycle flows that escalate to Sales or Support.
