Job Description

We Are Social is seeking a Director Performance (f/m/d) for an 18-month contract in Munich or Berlin, EMEA. This role involves leading and developing a team of Paid Media Specialists and Social Media Managers. The Director will be responsible for developing and implementing data-driven paid media strategies across platforms like Meta Ads, Google Ads, and TikTok, managing campaign execution, optimization, and reporting. Close collaboration with creative and analytics teams is essential to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth.

Must Have:
  • Lead, coach, and develop Paid Media Specialists and Social Media Managers.
  • Develop and implement data-driven paid media strategies across Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok, and programmatic networks.
  • Manage planning, execution, and optimization of digital advertising campaigns.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign results using analytics tools, derive insights, and improve KPIs.
  • At least 7 years of experience in Paid Media, Digital Marketing, or Social Media, including leadership.
  • Deep understanding of paid social and digital media platforms and analytics tools.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing paid campaigns for e-commerce or retail brands.
  • Strong analytical skills, project management expertise, and a data-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Solid understanding of e-commerce KPIs, customer journeys, attribution models, and digital sales funnels.
  • Experience with audience targeting, remarketing, conversion tracking, and multi-channel attribution.

Requirements

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Paid Media Specialists and Social Media Managers – with clear goals, individual coaching, and a focus on personal growth.
  • Develop and implement data-driven paid media strategies across platforms such as Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok, and programmatic networks – aligned with brand and e-commerce objectives.
  • Manage planning, execution, and optimization of digital advertising campaigns – including budget allocation, performance tracking, and creative messaging.
  • Collaborate closely with Creative, Marketing, E-Commerce, and Analytics teams to develop impactful ad assets, align messaging, and support the customer journey from awareness to purchase.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign results using analytics tools, derive insights, improve KPIs such as CTR, ROAS, and conversion rates, and present clear reporting to stakeholders.
  • Stay on top of digital and e-commerce trends, new advertising platforms, and best practices to identify innovative optimization opportunities.
  • Ensure all paid media activities support the overall marketing strategy and measurably contribute to customer acquisition and revenue growth.

Your Profile

  • Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a comparable field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in Paid Media, Digital Marketing, or Social Media, including proven leadership experience.
  • Deep understanding of paid social and digital media platforms (Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok, Pinterest) and common analytics and management tools.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing paid campaigns for e-commerce or retail brands.
  • Strong analytical skills, project management expertise, and a data-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with international teams and markets across the EMEA region is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of e-commerce KPIs, customer journeys, attribution models, and digital sales funnels.
  • Experience with audience targeting, remarketing, conversion tracking/pixel implementation, and multi-channel attribution.
  • Entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, and strong business acumen.
