Job Summary

Egnyte is seeking a Director, Product Finance to join their team in Mountain View, CA. This hybrid role involves driving data-driven decision-making, overseeing financial analysis, reporting, and interpretation of SaaS metrics. The Director will lead strategic initiatives, partner with CPO and CMO on product pricing and marketing ROI, and enhance SaaS metric adoption. The role requires an in-depth understanding of SaaS business models, advanced analytics, and the ability to influence decision-making across the organization, reporting directly to the CFO.

Must Have

  • Drive strategic initiatives including new product pricing, investment ROI, Corporate Development, and M&A.
  • Partner with CPO and CMO on NPI, product packaging, and marketing ROI.
  • Build on existing SaaS metrics and enhance their adoption for data-based decision making.
  • Engage with senior leaders to lead and refine the development, tracking, and optimization of key SaaS metrics (MRR, ARR, LTV, CAC, Churn Rate, NRR).
  • Provide actionable financial insights and strategic recommendations based on SaaS metrics.
  • Establish and maintain robust data pipelines, data governance frameworks, and reporting standards for SaaS metrics.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams to gather data and align on assumptions.
  • Conduct regular competitive benchmarking and market analysis within the SaaS industry.
  • Lead due diligence and financial modeling for potential investments, acquisitions, or strategic partnerships.
  • Work with a team of analysts and data scientists to identify new metrics and tools in SaaS analytics.
  • Extensive background (10+ years) in strategic finance roles/corporate development/investment banking/management consulting/BU controller.
  • Extensive experience in SaaS metrics, finance analytics, data science/business intelligence.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, data visualization tools and analytics platforms (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of competitor intelligence techniques and market analysis within the SaaS industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and influence decision-making at the executive level.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset for driving business performance.
  • Willingness to work 3 days per week in the Mountain View office.

  • Preference with a background in product finance.
  • Understanding of cloud, content collaboration, data governance and security.
  • Prefer finance educational qualifications along with a technology focus (through work experience or education).

As we continue to scale, we're looking for a Director, Product Finance to join our dynamic team and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. The Director will oversee the analysis, reporting, and interpretation of critical financial metrics unique to SaaS businesses. This leadership role requires an in-depth understanding of SaaS business models, advanced analytics, and the ability to influence decision-making at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SaaS metrics, investment banking, management consulting and competitive pricing and intelligence. We are scouting for a highly driven, articulate and ambitious individual who demonstrates strong leadership skills and will report to the CFO.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Drive with the CFO strategic initiatives including new product pricing, investment ROI, Corporate Development and M&A.
  • Partner with the CPO and CMO on NPI, product packaging, and marketing ROI.
  • Build on existing SaaS metrics and enhance their adoption to enable better data-based decision making in the company.
  • Engage with senior leaders to lead and refine the development, tracking, and optimization of key SaaS metrics, including MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue), ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue), LTV (Customer Lifetime Value), CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost), Churn Rate, and NRR (Net Revenue Retention).
  • Provide actionable financial insights and strategic recommendations based on SaaS metrics.
  • Establish and maintain robust data pipelines, data governance frameworks, and reporting standards to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of all SaaS metrics.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams to gather data, align on assumptions, and ensure metrics are aligned with business strategy.
  • Conduct regular competitive benchmarking and market analysis to evaluate the company’s financial standing relative to the industry.
  • Lead due diligence and financial modeling for potential investments, acquisitions or strategic partnerships.
  • Work with a team of analysts and data scientists to identify new metrics and tools in SaaS analytics that enhance decision-making and performance tracking.
  • You’ll be at the forefront of driving data-informed strategies that shape the future of our SaaS products.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive background (10+ years) in strategic finance roles/corporate development/investment banking/management consulting/BU controller.
  • Extensive experience in SaaS metrics, finance analytics, data science/business intelligence, preference with a background in product finance.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, data visualization tools and analytics platforms (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other BI tools).
  • Knowledge of competitor intelligence techniques and market analysis within the SaaS industry.
  • Understanding of cloud, content collaboration, data governance and security, is a plus.

COMPENSATION:

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across multiple U.S. geographic locations, and pay varies based on defined markets. The standard base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $210k - $270k annually. Pay varies by work location and may also be dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, and/or experience. During the interview and/or hiring process, your recruiter can share more information about the compensation package specific to the role and job location.
