Job Summary
Micron Technology is seeking a highly skilled and motivated technical leader to join their Operations Central Team (OCT) in the Photo Process and Equipment Engineering (PEE) division. This Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (DMTS) will drive innovation, operational excellence, and strategic alignment across Micron’s global semiconductor manufacturing network, focusing on leading-edge photolithography processes. The role involves elevating lithography performance, improving yield, overlay, cost efficiency, and cluster productivity, and ensuring Best Known Method (BKM) governance.
Must Have
- Lead worldwide collaboration for new technology pathfinding for high volume manufacturing (HVM).
- Drive scanner matching and alignment across global sites.
- Manage area of responsibility in alignment with OCT programs and business processes.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects aligned with Fab and corporate objectives.
- Track and benchmark Fab performance metrics; identify and share Best Known Methods (BKMs).
- Provide tactical support for issues related to people, safety, cost, scale, speed, and quality.
- Maintain open and effective communication with peer groups and cross-functional teams.
- Stay current with TD and manufacturing processes and business practices.
- Maintain awareness of equipment and material safety concerns.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience working as an innovator in photolithography / metrology area in wafer fabs.
- Bachelors/master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering.

Micron Technology is seeking a highly skilled and motivated technical leader to join our Operations Central Team (OCT) in the Photo Process and Equipment Engineering (PEE) division. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, operational excellence, and strategic alignment across our global semiconductor manufacturing network, with a focus on leading-edge photolithography processes.
As a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (DMTS), you will provide deep technical engagement and leadership to elevate lithography performance across Micron’s worldwide sites. You will lead initiatives that improve yield, overlay, cost efficiency, and cluster productivity, while ensuring Best Known Method (BKM) governance and alignment. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of advanced lithography, including EUV and other emerging technologies.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—such as Mask, Process Integration, OPC, Facilities, Strategic Planning and Factory Automation—as well as Technology Development (TD) teams in Boise and Hiroshima, high-volume manufacturing sites, and OEM suppliers. Your ability to define and drive solutions for high-impact performance gaps will be key to achieving best-in-class results.
Global Collaboration & Innovation
- Lead worldwide collaboration across OCT (operation central teams), Global Facilities, Mask shop, Central Mask, TD, and Site Photo teams to define and scale new technology pathfinding for high volume manufacturing (HVM).
- Drive scanner matching and alignment across global sites to ensure consistent performance.
- Facilitate structured working forums to guide equipment supplier strategy and roadmap alignment.
- Champion innovation to solve current and future photolithography challenges.
Business Process Management
- Manage your area of responsibility in alignment with OCT programs and business processes.
- Provide proactive input to improve and optimize OCT processes.
- Coordinate priorities and activities to accomplish project goals effectively.
Project Management
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects aligned with Fab and corporate objectives.
- Lead projects through full lifecycle: definition, planning, implementation, acceptance, and review.
- Define success metrics and maintain a portfolio that maximizes ROI and supports strategic roadmaps.
- Select and motivate high-performing project teams and partners.
Strategic Leadership
- Track and benchmark Fab performance metrics; identify and share Best Known Methods (BKMs).
- Develop and execute strategic roadmaps to elevate manufacturing performance.
- Foster team morale, open dialogue, and strong relationships across global teams.
Tactical Leadership
- Provide tactical support for issues related to people, safety, cost, scale, speed, and quality.
- Strengthen relationships within the photolithography community across central, site, and TD teams.
- Collaborate with Global Procurement and Global Quality to resolve technical concerns.
Communication
- Maintain open and effective communication with peer groups and cross-functional teams.
- Promote global knowledge sharing and timely issue resolution.
- Keep partners informed of project status, progress, and opportunities.
Training & Development
- Stay current with TD and manufacturing processes and business practices.
- Set and pursue clear, measurable development goals.
- Mentor and coach team members to support career progression.
- Collaborate with training teams to develop advanced training methods (e.g., KT, DFSS).
Safety
- Maintain awareness of equipment and material safety concerns.
- Ensure global understanding and resolution of safety issues.
- Partner with site and central teams to close open risk items and process hazard analyses.
Requirement
- Global Factory Network Expertise: Demonstrated understanding of worldwide high-volume manufacturing network operations across different geographical region.
- Leadership and Strategic Initiatives: Proven ability in team development and leading transformative initiatives.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with Front End (FE) manufacturing, reticle manufacturing, and fab processes.
- Project/Resource Management: Ability to manage Global Project and Resource.
- Effective Communication: Skilled at communicating effectively across various organizational levels.
- Customer-Focused Project Management: Proficient in project management with a strong customer focus.
- Continuous Learning Advocate: Continuous learning on the job and provide technical mentoring for peers.
