Job Summary
Micron Technology is seeking a Staff Network Engineer to lead critical network incident escalations, oversee NOC functions, and drive continuous improvement in incident response. This role involves designing and implementing complex network projects with a focus on high availability, security, and scalability. The engineer will serve as a subject matter expert for core network technologies and manage connectivity between on-premises data centers and public cloud environments like Azure, AWS, and GCP.
Must Have
- Act as the final point of technical escalation for all critical network incidents
- Oversee Network Operations Center (NOC) functions, defining operational processes
- Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of complex network projects
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all core network technologies
- Manage and optimize connectivity, peering, and interconnects between on-premises Data Centers and public cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in network engineering
- At least 3 years operating at a Senior/Level 4 escalation capacity
- Proven previous experience in 24/7 escalation operations
- Participation in on-call rotation management and leading major incident calls
- Exceptional ability to perform detailed packet-level analysis
- Utilize network monitoring and performance tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced expertise in LAN and WAN technologies
- Deep understanding of Routing and Switching principles, including BGP and EIGRP
- Advanced DC Technology (e.g., Fabric Path), VXLAN on Arista platforms
- Comprehensive knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Center (formerly DNA Center), IPAM and Infoblox service management
- Hands-on deployment and management of Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela)
- Experience with WAN Optimization technologies
- Direct experience implementing and managing Cloud Interconnects and hybrid networking solutions with Azure, AWS, and GCP

- Escalation Leadership: Act as the final point of technical escalation for all critical network incidents, ensuring rapid diagnosis, resolution, and root cause analysis (RCA) to minimize downtime.
- NOC Management: Oversee the Network Operations Center (NOC) functions, defining operational processes, ensuring 24/7 coverage efficiency, and driving continuous improvement in incident response and proactive monitoring.
- Design & Implementation: Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of complex network projects, focusing on high availability, security, and scalability.
- Technical Authority: Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all core network technologies, providing guidance and mentorship to Level 1-3 network staff.
- Cloud Networking: Manage and optimize connectivity, peering, and interconnects between on-premises Data Centers and public cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years operating at a Senior/Level 4 escalation capacity.
- Proven previous experience in 24/7 escalation operations, including participation in on-call rotation management and leading major incident calls.
- Relevant industry certifications are highly desirable (e.g. CCNP Enterprise/Data Center, or equivalent Arista/Cloud certifications).
- Exceptional ability to perform detailed packet-level analysis and utilize network monitoring and performance tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
