Electrical Designer

Scalian, a multinational engineering consulting firm, is seeking an Electrical Designer for an aeronautic project. The role involves designing high-voltage electrical distribution systems, developing and routing electrical harnesses, creating schematics, and integrating instrumentation packages. The designer will collaborate with various engineering teams, ensure compliance with aeronautical standards, and participate in testing and validation. This hybrid full-time position requires 3+ years of experience in electrical design, ideally in aerospace or automotive.

Must Have

• Design high-voltage electrical distribution systems for aeronautical applications.
• Develop, size, and route electrical harnesses.
• Create schematics, wiring diagrams, and complete harness drawings (AutoCAD, MicroStation).
• Design and integrate instrumentation packages for ground and flight testing.
• Participate in system testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical designs.
• Support ground and flight test campaigns in real-world environments.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, electric propulsion, and avionics teams.
• Ensure compliance with aeronautical standards, safety requirements, and certification rules.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical design, ideally in the aerospace or automotive industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation for electrical design.
• Excellent knowledge of high-voltage systems, battery integration, and electric propulsion technologies.
• Experience in harness design, routing, and electrical documentation.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities:

• Design high-voltage electrical distribution systems for electrical aeronautical applications.
• Develop, size, and route electrical harnesses to integrate batteries, electric motors, and other equipment into the aircraft structure.
• Create schematics, wiring diagrams, and complete harness drawings (AutoCAD, MicroStation).
• Design and integrate instrumentation packages for ground and flight testing: sensors, data acquisition systems, cabling, and assemblies.
• Participate in system testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical designs.
• Support ground and flight test campaigns in real-world environments.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, electric propulsion, and avionics teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
• Ensure compliance with aeronautical standards, safety requirements, and certification rules.
• Participate in design reviews, risk analyses, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical design (required), ideally in the aerospace or automotive industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation for electrical design.
• Excellent knowledge of high-voltage systems, battery integration, and electric propulsion technologies.
• Experience in harness design, routing, and electrical documentation.
