Job Summary

Motorola Solutions, a global community, helps keep people safer with critical communications, video security, and command center technologies. Silvus Technologies, acquired by Motorola Solutions in 2025, develops advanced communications technologies, specifically Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) radios with custom Mobile-Networked MIMO waveform. These radios provide vital, secure, and reliable connectivity for mission-critical applications in harsh environments, serving defense, law enforcement, and various industries. The Electronics Quality Technician III will support StreamCaster™ MANET product development and manufacturing, focusing on inspection, repair, and testing of complex PCB assemblies.

Must Have

  • Lead inspection and repair activities for complex PCB assemblies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and failure diagnostics using advanced tools.
  • Perform functional testing and repair on customer-returned units (RMAs).
  • Support and train junior technicians on proper inspection, soldering, and ESD practices.
  • Maintain and calibrate specialized test and diagnostic equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering to resolve recurring product issues.
  • Build and validate test fixtures and jigs used for production verification.
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on electronics experience.
  • Advanced soldering and rework proficiency (fine-pitch SMT, BGAs, micro coax).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills using schematics and test instruments.
  • Experience documenting and communicating technical findings to engineers.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident).

Good to Have

  • Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) under IPC-A-610 or IPC-J-STD 001.
  • Familiarity with RF and high-speed digital circuit testing.
  • Experience with Linux-based diagnostic tools.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary production environment.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Electronics Quality Technician III reports to the Quality Supervisor on the Operations - Quality Control team. The successful individual in this role will support StreamCaster™ MANET product development and manufacturing.

The position is full-time, on-site daily, Monday through Friday. The location for this role is Silvus Technologies’ HQ in the heart of vibrant West LA.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • High School Diploma or GED, or an Associate’s degree in Electronics, with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on electronics experience.
  • Advanced soldering and rework proficiency (fine-pitch SMT, BGAs, micro coax).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills using schematics and test instruments.
  • Experience documenting and communicating technical findings to engineers.
  • NOTE - Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
  • All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional exposure to heat and cold.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:
  • Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.
  • Kneeling or squatting to access lower shelves.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. when receiving incoming part shipments.
  • Walking/Moving in the labs.

CA Pay Range: $32.40 - $34.56 / hour USD

This pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
