Synechron is seeking an experienced ELK Developer to design, implement, and optimize logging and observability solutions across enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana to support log ingestion, analysis, and visualization. This role is essential in enabling effective monitoring, anomaly detection, and operational insights, contributing directly to system reliability and business performance.

Must Have

  • Design and implement log ingestion pipelines, including parsing, enrichment, and indexing of data
  • Develop and maintain Kibana dashboards, visualizations, and reporting tools for real-time monitoring
  • Optimize the performance and scalability of ELK stack deployments
  • Implement alerting, anomaly detection, and ML integrations to enhance observability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to log ingestion, search performance, or visualization inaccuracies
  • Proficiency with Elasticsearch (version 7.x or higher), Logstash, and Kibana
  • Strong experience with log ingestion, parsing, enrichment, and indexing

Software Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with Elasticsearch (version 7.x or higher), Logstash, and Kibana
  • Strong experience with log ingestion, parsing, enrichment, and indexing
  • Familiarity with Beats (Filebeat, Metricbeat, etc.) for log and metric collection
  • Experience with Kibana dashboard creation and data visualization techniques
  • Working knowledge of YAML, JSON, and structured data formats
  • Basic understanding of monitoring, alerting, and anomaly detection mechanisms
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize ELK stack performance
  • Understanding of distributed systems architecture and microservices environments

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Elastic APM or OpenTelemetry for application performance monitoring

  • Design and implement log ingestion pipelines, including parsing, enrichment, and indexing of data
  • Develop and maintain Kibana dashboards, visualizations, and reporting tools for real-time monitoring

  • Implement alerting, anomaly detection, and ML integrations to enhance observability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to log ingestion, search performance, or visualization inaccuracies
  • Collaborate with frontend and backend teams to integrate logs and metrics into overall monitoring architectures
  • Document ELK configurations, pipelines, and best practices for ongoing support and knowledge sharing
  • Support infrastructure automation and deployment of ELK components in cloud or on-prem environments
  • Keep up-to-date with new features and industry best practices related to ELK and observability

Technical Skills (By Category)

Programming Languages & Data Formats:

  • Essential: JSON, YAML, scripting in Bash or Python (basic automation)
  • Preferred: Python for automation and data processing scripts

Log Management & Monitoring Tools:

  • Essential: Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana
  • Preferred: Elastic APM, OpenTelemetry

Data Management & Analytics:

  • Experience working with time-series data, logs, and metrics data
  • Skills to interpret patterns, alerts, and anomalies within large datasets

Cloud & Infrastructure Technologies:

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for deploying ELK solutions
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes or container orchestration for scalable deployments

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years experience developing and managing ELK-based logging and monitoring solutions
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and scale ELK deployments in complex environments
  • Practical experience configuring and implementing alerting, monitoring, and anomaly detection systems
  • Experience with log ingestion pipelines involving Beats, Logstash, or equivalents
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, microservice architectures, and cloud environments is preferred
  • Prior experience in implementing security controls within ELK is advantageous

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Monitor system logs and dashboards to ensure system health and performance
  • Develop and refine log ingestion flows, including filtering, parsing, and enrichment
  • Create and update Kibana dashboards for business and operational insights
  • Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks or log data anomalies
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate logs/metrics with business workflows
  • Automate routine tasks with scripting and support continuous deployment of ELK components
  • Document configurations, processes, and best practices for future reference
  • Conduct data quality checks, incident investigations, and trend analysis
  • Identify opportunities for advanced analytics, including leveraging ML capabilities

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent industry experience accepted
  • Relevant certifications in Elasticsearch, ELK stack, or cloud platforms (optional but beneficial)
  • Ongoing learning in observability, security, and data analytics within DevOps environments
