Job Summary
John Crane, a Smiths Group business, is seeking an Engineer II CAD DGSS Eng to join their team in Pune, India. This full-time role involves understanding and preparing various engineering drawings and documentation for gas seal support systems and complex skids. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, strong CAD skills, and knowledge of piping, instrumentation, and manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include creating detailed designs, ensuring compliance with standards, and supporting product standardization.
Must Have
- Understand and prepare PID, PID BOM, and GAD for Gas Seal Support Systems and complex skids (Lube oil, Fuel, Seal gas conditioning).
- Prepare General Arrangement and fabrication drawings for Gas Seal Support Systems and complex skids.
- Create detailed component, piping isometric, and structural drawings using Solid Edge 3D model.
- Perform material take-off and consolidate raw materials, including detailed BOM for piping and structural components.
- Issue complete manufacturing drawing packages.
- Support Product standardization activities.
- Comply with ISO & SES guidelines and organizational processes (iprojects, DOSE, TC, SAP).
- Possess knowledge of piping, fittings, valves instrumentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Have very good application knowledge of Fits and Tolerances and GD&T in Design of precision assemblies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Good to Have
- Hands-on experience using Solid Edge CAD software.
- Experience with Solid Edge-CAD package customization & library creation for 3D parts, sub-assemblies & main assemblies.
- Strong hands-on skills in Solid Edge 3D/2D.
- Experience with CAD Automation programming.
- Mandatory experience with Solid Edge and Rule stream.
- Work experience in Solid Edge 3D CAD automation projects in Engineering service companies and sound CAD programming skills.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding and Preparation of PID, PID BOM and GAD for Gas Seal Support System, Complex system such as Lube oil Skid, Fuel and Seal gas conditioning skids/ panels.

- Detailed component drawings, piping isometric drawings, structural drawings using Solid edge 3D model.
- Material take-off and consolidation of raw materials.
- Detailed BOM including piping and structural.
- Issue complete manufacturing drawing package for manufacturing plan.
- Support Product standardization activities
- Work in Morning / General / Evening Shift
- Comply to ISO & SES guidelines.

- Contribute to safety measures and company policies.

- Liaise with respective Stake holder and drawing offices.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors in Engineering - Mechanical or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years relevant industrial experience
Experience

- Knowledge of piping, fittings, valves instrumentation, etc.
- Technical background.
- Good Team Player
- Self Motivated and quick learner
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, a proficiency in MS Office,

Desirable Experience
- Hands on experience of using Solid Edge CAD software. Solid Edge-CAD package customization & library creation for 3D part, sub-assemblies & main assemblies.
- Strong hands-on skills in Solid Edge 3D/2D. Experience with CAD Automation programming. Solid Edge and Rule stream experience is mandatory.
- Work experience in Solid Edge 3D CAD automation project in Engineering service companies and sound CAD programming skills will be added advantage.
