Job Summary

John Crane, a business of Smiths Group, is seeking an Engineer II DGSS Eng to contribute to mission-critical flow control solutions for energy and process industries. The role involves understanding and preparing PIDs, BOMs, and GADs for gas seal support systems, performing process simulations with Aspen Hysys, and preparing datasheets for various components. The engineer will also be responsible for technical alignment, reviewing supplier quotes, and supporting product standardization activities, ensuring compliance with organizational processes and promoting continuous improvement.

Must Have

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Understanding and preparation of PID, PID BOM and GAD for Gas Seal Support System
  • Perform process simulation and calculation using Aspen Hysys
  • Prepare Datasheets for Instruments, Valves, Filters, Separators, Seal Gas Heaters, Seal Gas Boosters, Electrical and Instruments control modules
  • Knowledge of selection and sizing of components
  • Ability to read and understand instrument hook-up and wiring diagram
  • Participation in calls with customers
  • Review supplier quotes and technical alignment
  • Understand component, piping isometric, and structural drawings
  • Working knowledge of Solid edge software
  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft excel
  • Knowledge of Dry gas seal panel & its components and instrumentation
  • 100% Compliance to processes & procedures (iproject, DOSE, TC, SAP)
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement
  • Contribute to safety measures and company policies
  • Good communication skills
  • Quick Learner with sound technical and analytical skills
  • Good in understanding and reading drawing capabilities
  • Liaise with respective Stake holders and drawing offices
  • Support safe workplace cultures and compliance with Smiths EH&S

Key activities:

  • Understanding and Preparation of PID, PID BOM and GAD for Gas Seal Support System, Complex system such as Lube oil Skid, Fuel and Seal gas conditioning skids/ panels.
  • Perform the process simulation and calculation using Aspen Hysys.
  • Able to prepare Datasheets for all Instruments, Valves, Filters, Separators, Seal Gas Heaters, Seal Gas Boosters, Electrical and Instruments control modules etc.
  • Shall have knowledge of Selection and sizing of the above components.
  • Shall be able to read and understand the instrument hook-up, wiring diagram.
  • Participation in call with customer.
  • Reviewing Suppliers Quote and technical alignment.
  • Understand component drawings, piping isometric drawings, structural drawings.
  • Working knowledge of Solid edge software and Good Knowledge of Microsoft excel is preferred.
  • Support Product standardization activities

Qualifications
