So, what’s the role all about?
We are looking at NiCE for an experienced Engineering Team Lead to lead our two key Czech teams: one developing an innovative product for customer service automation, and the other a DevOps team operating a global SaaS product for digital customer experience in the AWS cloud — used by some of the largest companies in the world.

This is a global role, requiring collaboration with teams across multiple continents.

Our product and its traffic grow by hundreds of percent every year. We use advanced technologies, have a mature product with a robust infrastructure, operate dozens of data centers (all on AWS), and continuously strive to improve and automate our processes while tackling many exciting technical challenges.

How will you make an impact? 

• Leading two development teams (AI and DevOps) – from design, planning, delivery, to releasing our SaaS product
• SCRUM management and tuning of team operations
• Reporting to the R&D Director for Digital CXone
• Accountability for delivering software iterations in an agile environment and ensuring their quality
• Orchestrating the development and release lifecycle, forecasting, and deploying new software versions to production
• Software maintenance, managing bug fixes, and ensuring ongoing resolution and prioritization of technical tasks
• Long-term standardization of development practices, tools, methodologies, and documentation processes to ensure alignment with the overall architecture
• Collaborating with product managers and architects to understand product requirements and limitations
• Continuously seeking ways to improve development quality, efficiency, and the accuracy of deliverables
• Representing R&D in discussions with other company stakeholders and collaborating with other R&D teams according to the current roadmap
• Leading individual team members’ growth through coaching, feedback, goal-setting, and performance management
• Managing projects according to the current roadmap or requirements, task delegation, and reporting

Have you got what it takes?

• 3–5+ years of experience in a similar managerial or Scrum Master role
• Experience with DevOps teams and cloud environments
• A positive attitude and the energy to lead teams and continuously drive things forward
• Creative problem-solving skills, ability to meet deadlines, and manage full release delivery cycles without compromising quality
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences
• A very good command of English
• Willingness to work in a bilingual team environment — a Czech office culture with humor, combined with an English-speaking global team
• Ideally, experience with SaaS products or software handling large-scale traffic
• Ideally, hands-on experience in software development

Do NiCE sháníme zkušeného engineering managera, který bude vést dva klíčové české týmy: jeden vyvíjejíc applikaci pro customer services a druhý DevOps team, který provozuje v AWS cloudu globální SaaS produkt pro digital customer experince, na kterém běží ty největší firmy na světě. Role má globální přesah a bude tak spolupracovat s dalšími týmy napříč několika kontinenty. 

Každý rok náš produkt a jeho traffic roste o stovky procent, používáme pokročilé technologie, máme vyspělých produkt s robustní infrastrukturou, provozujeme desítky data center (vše AWS), kontinuálně se snažíme zlepšovat a automatizovat naše procesy, řešíme mnoho zajímavých technologických výzev. 

Od této role čekáme, že:  

• Leadership dvou vývojových týmů (Vývojový a DevOps) – při návrhu, plánování, doručení a releasování našeho SaaS 

• SCRUM management, tuning fungování vývojových týmů 

• Reporting R&D Directorovi pro Digital CXone 

• Zodpovědnost za doručování softwarových iterací v agilním prostředí a jejich kvalitu. 

• Orchestrace vývojového cyklu releasu, forecasting, release nových verzí software do produkce. 

• Údržba software, management opravy bugů, zajištění průběžného odbavování a prioritizaci technických priorit týmů 

• Dlouhodobá standardizace vývojových praktik, nástrojů, metodik, dokumentačních postupů, aby byl zajištěn soulad s celkovou architekturou. 

• Spolupráce s produktovými manažery a architekty, chápání produktového zadání a jeho limitací 

• Kontinuální hledání možností pro zvyšování kvality vývoje, efektivity, zajišťování přesnosti a pečlivosti výstupů. 

• Reprezentace R&D v diskuzích s ostatními stakeholdery napříč společností, spolupráce s ostatními R&D týmy dle aktuální roadmapy 

• Leadership pro rozvoj jednotlivců v týmu, coaching, práce se zpětnou vazbou, nastavování cílů na zlepšení a osobnostní růst, peformance management. 

• Řízení projektů dle aktuální roadmapy či zadání, přidělování úkolů, reporting. 

Potřebujeme, aby hledaná osobnost měla:   

• Zkušenost s podobnou manažerskou nebo scrum master pozicí min 3 - 5 let. 

• Zkušenost s DevOps teamem a prostředím cloudu 

• Pozitivní přístup a energii vést týmy, posouvat věci neustále dopředu 

• Kreativita řešení různých výzev, pracovat s deadliny, řídit kompletní delivery releasů bez kompromisů v kvalitě 

• Dobré komunikační schopnosti, schopnost vysvětlování technických problémů i netechnickým lidem, velmi dobrá úroveň angličtiny 

• Chuť fungovat v bilingual týmu v kanceláři s typicky českou kulturou a humorem a s anglickým prostředí v rámci globálního týmu 

• Ideálně zkušenost se SaaS produktem nebo softwarem, který obsluhoval velkou škálu provozu 

• Ideálně vlastní zkušenost s vývojem software
