Job Description

This role involves troubleshooting and repairing hardware and process failures for specific Dry Etch tools (AMAT, Ulvac, Gasonics, Fusion Gemini & LAM). Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, evaluating tool performance using SPC charts and FabGuard FDC software, and documenting maintenance activities. The technician will also maintain spare parts inventory. Key challenges include troubleshooting complex hardware and process issues across various chambers, utilizing SPC and FDC data, and managing multiple equipment downs and shifting priorities. The position requires self-motivation, strong data analysis, troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills, thriving in a multi-cultural 7x24 manufacturing environment.
Must have:
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware and process failures for AMAT, Ulvac, Gasonics, Fusion Gemini & LAM Dry Etch tools.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities following standardized work documents.
  • Use SPC charts and FabGuard Fault Detection (FDC) software to evaluate tool performance.
  • Document maintenance activities and assist in improving standardized work documents.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory.
  • Possess an Associate’s Degree (or higher) in an engineering or science discipline, or 7+ years of NXP experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years semiconductor manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with advanced electronics, equipment troubleshooting, installation, repair, and operation of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read schematics and complex drawings/diagrams.
  • Physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting/carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse team environment and multitask with minimal supervision.

Job Details

Job Summary:

  • Troubleshoot and repair all hardware and process failures for the following tool set: AMAT (DPSII, DPS, MxP, MxP+, IPS, Super E & 5200’s), Ulvac, Gasonics, Fusion Gemini & LAM (4400 & Coronus) Dry Etch tools.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities following standardized work documents
  • Use SPC charts and FabGuard Fault Detection (FDC) software to evaluate tool performance
  • Document maintenance activities and assist in improving standardized work documents for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and various other activities related to the success of the area
  • Self-motivated; able to take initiative with minimal supervision
  • Ability to interact with multiple disciplines in a 7x24 manufacturing facility
  • Strong data analysis, troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Aptitude and desire to learn new skills
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-cultural environment

Key Challenges:

  • Troubleshoot complex hardware and process issues across a variety of process chambers
  • Use SPC and FabGuard Fault Detection and Classification data to troubleshoot complex equipment and process issues
  • Ability to deal with multiple equipment downs and shifting priorities

Cross functional aspects:

  • Assist Equipment Engineers with equipment upgrades, improvements and long down troubleshooting
  • Work with process technicians on wafer recoveries and post maintenance qualification tasks
  • Coordinate equipment down time with Manufacturing Leads

Job Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree (or higher) in an engineering or science discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years semiconductor manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of NXP (or affiliate) experience may qualify in lieu of degree
  • Experience with advanced electronics, equipment troubleshooting, installation, repair and operation of Semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Must be able to read schematics and complex drawings/diagrams
  • Must be physically capable of standing for long periods of time as well as lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work well in a diverse team environment and multitask with minimal supervision while adjusting to changing priorities
  • Analytical problem solving and testing skills
