Front End Operations is crucial for NXP's success, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and cost-competitive technologies and supply. The Sr. Etch Process Engineer will manage multiple processes in a high-volume manufacturing facility. This role involves identifying and reducing sources of variation, implementing zero-defect processes, and supporting development or transfer activities. The engineer will also focus on improving tool utilization, availability, and reducing defectivity, scrap, cycle time, and recurrent machine faults, contributing to overall cost reduction.
Must have:
- Reduce defectivity and scrap
- Reduce cycle time
- Improve tool utilization and availability
- Identify and reduce recurrent machine faults
- Reduce operational costs
- Support development activities
- Develop and write specifications
- Implement Six-Sigma statistical process control methods
- Perform capacity planning and modeling
- Lead or participate in cross-functional and lean activity teams
- Hold a BS in an engineering discipline
- Have 3-5 years of process engineering experience in high-volume semiconductor manufacturing
- Generate, analyze, and interpret equipment and process performance data
- Develop action plans for recurring failures
- Troubleshoot and repair problems using logic
- Manage multiple issues and shifting priorities
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Interact professionally with manufacturing and equipment engineering
- Exhibit good foundational problem-solving skills
- Be self-motivated and take initiative
- Effectively prioritize work
Good to have:
- Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing methods
- Experience with Applied Materials Centura MxP/MxP+/DPS
- Experience with LAM 4500
- Experience with ULVAC Enviro II
- Experience with Gasonics 3500 Asher

Job Summary
The ETCH Process Engineer is responsible for multiple processes in a high-volume manufacturing facility. Engineer will be responsible for identifying and reducing sources of variation, implementing zero defect processes, and supporting development or transfer activities.
Responsibilities
- Reducing defectivity/scrap
- Reducing cycle time
- Improving tool utilization and availability
- Identification and reduction of recurrent machine faults
- Reducing cost
- Supporting development activities
- Developing and writing specifications
- Implementation of Six-Sigma statistical process control methods
- Capacity planning and modeling
- Participating in and/or leading cross-functional and lean activity teams
Qualifications
- BS in an engineering discipline
- 3-5 years experience in process engineering in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment
- Ability to generate, analyze, and interpret equipment and process performance data and produce a timely action plan to resolve recurring failures
- Demonstrated presentation skills. Candidate will be called upon to train others and present complex datasets and process problems/ solutions to diverse audiences.
- Competent in troubleshooting problems and capable of applying logic to isolate and repair them.
- Ability to deal with multiple issues and shifting priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with manufacturing and equipment engineering to deal with these issues and priorities.
- Good foundational problem-solving skills with creative solutions and out-of-the-box thinking.
- Self-motivated; able to take initiative and effectively prioritize work for self.
- A strong desire to help create a positive, winning, world class working environment.
- Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing methods is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in at least one or more of the following tools/processes preferred:
- Applied Materials Centura MxP/MxP+/DPS
- LAM 4500
- ULVAC Enviro II
- Gasonics 3500 Asher
