The Executive Producer provides broad creative oversight of a brand that may include one or several contributing products. The role is accountable for long-term product roadmap, overseeing internal and external development and ensures product pillars are represented consistently across the product and brand. The Executive Producer partners across all disciplines, feature groups and with the Strategic Leaders of the company.
This role is a full-time, on-site position based 5 days a week at our Downtown Vancouver studio.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Key Accountabilities:
- Provides broad creative oversight of a brand that may include one or several contributing products.
- Develops, maintains, and is accountable for the long term product roadmap.
- Oversees internal / external development.
- Ensures product pillars are represented consistently across the product or a franchise of products within the same brand and various media (e.g., movies, soundtracks, etc.).
- Contributes to the evolution of methods and processes within the studio producer departments.
- Has a strong understanding of technologies associated with game development and production (capabilities and limitations).
- Builds excitement around products throughout the studio.
- Evaluates "Product Health" in multiple product phases (e.g. concept, pre-production, production, live production) and be accountable for overall strategy to maintain product health.
- Business Acumen & Leadership:
- Anticipates business issues to align operational priorities and allocate resources.
- Remains current on competitor products, industry trends and techniques in game design.
- Mentors the entire Production staff and serves as the primary advocate of the end customer.
- Champions the producer discipline at the studio level and is active in building and leading the producer team.
- Regularly participate in 1:1s with employees, as well as in the staffing, recruitment, onboarding and performance review processes throughout the year.
- Problem Solving and Decision Making:
- Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements. Define problems and empower teams to figure out their own solutions.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Directs collaboration with corporate partners to develop multi-year brand strategies.
- Fosters a respectful work environment through encouraging collaboration and appreciation of diversity through all levels of the organization; able to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship.
- Communicates in a clear, concise and professional manner with all levels of internal staff and external technology partners as applicable.
- Acts as a connector, linking senior leadership to employees through open communication to ensure all parties remain informed by appropriately communicating down organization information and rolling up feedback from the team.
- Influences Kabam Worldwide and external groups to achieve studio goals; achieves studio consent and buy-in.
- Effectively communicates timely feedback and feedforward to support the growth of your employees.
- Leadership:
- Owner of the entire product / franchise; member of game leads group and studio senior leadership, defines strategic product goals for 3 years out.
- Aligns staffing and budgeting to strategic planning, capturing short and long term objectives.
- Manages activities of two or more sections or functions through a team of producers.
- Recommends, champions and implements organizational changes.
- Influences clients and/or organizational leadership to accomplish strategic and operational objectives.
- Establishes and drives vision and goals for larger functional areas or teams in alignment with the organization’s overall strategic direction.
- Resource Management:
- Responsible for the budget of their game.
- Responsible for allocating resources to different functional areas of the game.
To be successful in this role, your background includes:
- Bachelor’s Degree or greater; specialized designation in either project management, team leadership, production or other relevant discipline.
- Strong understanding of technologies associated with game development and production (capabilities and limitations)
- 10+ years in gaming or entertainment production, with 5+ years in a leadership role, in a mid or large sized organization
- Direct experience producing all major game phases (e.g. concept, pre-production, production, live production).
- Transformative leadership style, seeks to grow and mentor their teams, not simply manage them
- Experience of growing a healthy and successful delivery team in video games, software, technology, or a similar field.
- Strong written and oral communication skills paired with solid presentation and public speaking skills.

The typical hiring range listed above is specific to candidates located in Vancouver. The salary will be determined based on your knowledge, skills and competencies, and you’ll have room to grow after you join!
