Job Description

The DES (Deterrence and Strategic Electromagnetism) department at Thales has developed expertise in electromagnetic detection sensors for anti-IED and anti-drone warfare, pulsed power sources, Directed Energy Weapons, and severe electromagnetic environments. They are seeking an experienced Capture Leader to structure their offerings, accelerate technology valorization with clients, and lead commercial proposals. This role involves defining commercial offers, consolidating roadmaps, piloting MVP development, and fostering collaborations.
Must Have:
  • Define commercial offers from available technological building blocks and formalize their value proposition
  • Consolidate associated roadmaps and business plans
  • Pilot the development of MVPs to convince clients and adapt based on feedback
  • Lead commercial proposals to clients (France and European Defense Funds) as a capture leader
  • Maintain and develop collaborations with technological partners or other Thales sectors/BLs
  • At least 10 years of experience in business development or bid management
  • Bac+5 and/or general engineer degree
  • Skills in commercial business development (ideally in defense systems)
  • Skills in bid management (offer management)
  • Skills in client negotiation
  • Skills in defining marketing offers (Value Proposal)
  • Proficiency in English

Your daily life

The Gennevilliers Campus is the heart of design, development, and support activities for major defense systems: radio communications, resilient network and infrastructure systems, satellite communications, collaborative combat, and cybersecurity. Located north of Paris, it is quickly accessible by public transport.

The DES (Deterrence and Electromagnetic Strategies) department has developed skills and technological building blocks in several complementary areas of its main activity, particularly in the field of electromagnetic detection sensors for anti-IED and anti-drone warfare, pulsed power sources and Directed Energy Weapons, severe electromagnetic environments (EMC, TEMPEST, etc.).

The department now wishes to hire a Capture Leader to structure its offering in these areas and accelerate the valorization of these technologies with clients.

The Electromagnetism Capture Leader reports to the Head of the CTD (Capteur TEMPEST and Hardening) activity.

They will interface with the department's technical teams, the sector's technical direction, and the BL's commercial team.

In this capacity, your missions will be to:

  • Define, based on available technological building blocks, the different stages of forming commercial offers and formalize the value proposition of these offers;
  • Consolidate associated roadmaps and business plans;
  • Pilot the development of MVPs to convince clients of the interest of these offers and adapt them based on feedback;
  • Lead commercial proposals to our clients (France and European Defense Funds) as a capture leader, in coordination with the commercial and technical teams of the department in Gennevilliers and Le Barp (33);
  • Maintain and develop, as needed, collaborations either with technological partners or with other Thales sectors or BLs involved in these areas.

Your profile:

Is your priority to work in critical systems by joining a project team composed of high-level experts?

Do you have the ambition to work on high-tech projects?

Do you have at least 10 years of experience in business development or bid management roles?

Do you have a Bac+5 and/or a general engineering degree and have skills in:

  • Commercial business development, ideally in defense systems
  • Bid management (offer management)
  • Client negotiation
  • Definition of marketing offers (Value Proposal)

Occasional travel is to be expected.
