Job Description

This role involves performing chemical analysis and testing for inks and components using standard laboratory instrumentation for R&D, Product Development, and Manufacturing. The technician will solve analytical requests, ensure adherence to good laboratory practices, develop instrument capabilities, handle unknown failure analysis issues, and work with engineers to develop new analysis methods. The role also focuses on improving test methodology, ensuring tooling uptime, and maintaining equipment reliability.
Good To Have:
  • Chemical Engineering Diploma or Degree with related experience.
  • Experience in operating PH/Conductivity, Tensiometer, UV Vis, Nanotrac, LCMS, GCMS, ICP OES and other analytical lab equipment for analysis purpose.
  • Knowledge and experience working with chemicals.
Must Have:
  • Perform analysis/testing for inks and components utilizing standard chemical/laboratory instrumentation for R&D, Product Development and Manufacturing activities.
  • Work with partners to solve analytical requests and communicate results accordingly.
  • Ensure adherence to good laboratory practices in areas of Laboratory Safety, Instrument Calibration, Instrument maintenance, Instrument troubleshooting and problem solving, Method Development, Laboratory Documentation (SOP), Quality System Support (R&R).
  • Develop the capability of the current instrument set.
  • Handle unknown and Non-Routine Failure Analysis Issues/Requests from Product lines.
  • Work with Engineers to conduct and develop new analysis methods.
  • Continuously seek and apply improvement to test methodology or tools for Productivity & Efficiency purpose.
  • Ensure tooling up-time and its availability to meet the quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Respond promptly to daily tooling issues that affect yield and quality occur on the manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure the optimization of spares in inventory between its availability and holding cost.
  • Communicate effectively on equipment reliability issues, root cause analysis and corrective or preventive actions.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and follow all safety procedures.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

  • Chemical Engineering Diploma or Degree with related experience

  • Knowledge and experience working with chemicals.
  • Must possess strong analytical, good problem solving and decision-making skills.
