Job Description

Carry1st is Africa’s leading games publisher and monetization platform. As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the financial management of the company, ensuring accurate and complete financial records. This includes managing month-end accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and tax compliance across all jurisdictions. You will also contribute to developing financial policies and collaborate with external auditors for timely year-end audits and tax filings. This role requires a proactive, experienced, and qualified professional capable of multitasking in a dynamic business environment.
Must Have:
  • Manage Month End Accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Responsibility for tax compliance (VAT, withholding tax, corporation tax).
  • Help build a ‘best in class’ transactional accounting function.
  • Collate budget vs. actuals analysis and Business Partner with Heads of departments.
  • Ensure year-end audits & consolidation are done in time and tax returns are filed.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Chartered Accountant or Full CPA with +6 years relevant experience.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable team-player; flexible and willing to support in other areas.

As a Finance Manager you will ensure financial management of the Companies’ affairs and carry out accounting duties with the ultimate goal to provide and keep accurate and complete financial records. This position is a great opportunity for an experienced and qualified Finance Manager who is proactive, able to multitask and prioritise work to accommodate the requirements of a dynamic and growing business.

You will...

  • Manage Month End Accounting and balance sheet reconciliations to produce robust and timely financial results
  • Responsibility for tax compliance including VAT, withholding tax and corporation tax in all jurisdictions
  • Help to building a ‘best in class’ transactional accounting function, providing strategic oversight and direction for transactional accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger
  • Collate budget vs. actuals analysis and Business Partner with Heads of departments on results
  • In collaboration with external auditors ensure year-end audits & consolidation are done in time and tax returns are filed in a timely manner
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice

Requirements

  • Chartered Accountant or Full CPA with +6 years relevant experience
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
