Job Description

Mattel is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the Sr Manager Finance and act as a finance business partner for the France commercial team. This role involves cooperating with stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to achieve sales, profitability, and working capital goals. The analyst will manage customer benefits, report on and drive improvements in customer profitability, and analyze and control customer promotional budgets. Responsibilities include reviewing and approving on-invoice promotion discounts, managing budgets for DFI, sales adjustments, and SG&A, and providing ad-hoc analyses to the France Commercial Team and EMEA Finance Team. The role requires partnering with stakeholders to drive key financial metrics and maintaining collaborative relationships with European and local teams. Support for closing activities and understanding SG&A within the specific country of leadership are also key aspects of this position. Good To Have:
  • Experience with Oracle, AS400, Salesforce, HPT
  • Commercial understanding of a consumer goods company
  • Experience in journal entry and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Exposure to a commercial environment (retail or FMCG)

Job Description

Supporting the Sr Manager Finance in providing specific Financial Analysis and serving as a finance business partner and support for France commercial team. Cooperate with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic, fast paced environment to ensure we reach our sales, profitability and working capital goals. Continuously look for improvement and simplification, both within and outside of Finance Team

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Management of customer benefits (/forecast / actuals / Variances analysis)
  • Reporting, analysis and driving actions for improvement of customer profitability
  • Analysis and control of customer promotional budgets
  • Review and approval of on-invoice promotion discounts (PEX)
  • Budgets Management (DFI, sales adjustments, SG&A)
  • Support France Commercial Team, as well as EMEA Finance Team with ad-hoc analyses
  • Partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to drive sales, profit and working capital metrics
  • Maintain collaborative relations with European and local teams
  • Monthly Quarterly and annual Support on Closing activities
  • To fully understand SG&A within the specific country of leadership

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Excellent implementation (efficiency, on time, on budget, on quality)
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to liaise with people at all levels across the business
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Results oriented; ability to apply sound commercial reasoning and logical thinking
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong technical skills (MS Access/Excel/SQL/VBA – manipulate complex/raw data). Experience with Oracle, AS400, Salesforce, HPT will be advantageous
  • Commercial understanding of a consumer goods company
  • Basic accounting knowledge with experience in journal entry and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Proactive individual who can manage deadlines and take quick decisions
  • Fast paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Balancing between different objectives (local vs. regional, profitability vs. working capital etc.)

 

Requirements:

Educational background:

  • Finance or Accounting Degree or equivalent in Finance or Business-related discipline

Professional experience

  • Preferably 2-3 years of experience in finance function
  • Exposure to a commercial environment (retail or FMCG) would be advantageous
  • Fluent French/English speaker
