Job Description

The Financial Data Analyst is responsible for monitoring and maintaining asset data for Clearwater’s clients. As content experts, FDAs advise internal and external constituents on the proper handling of critical data topics such as security master, reference data, asset classes, corporate actions, cash flows, analytics, pricing, amortization, performance, derivatives, and alternative assets. Responsibilities include responding to inquiries, designing and developing data elements, validating data accuracy using manual and automated processes, evaluating data vendors, acting as a content expert, collaborating with clients on data solutions, maintaining securities data in real-time, establishing process documentation, performing basic SQL tasks, validating investment data against market sources, nurturing relationships with data providers and clients, contributing to reference data products, developing an understanding of investments, and reviewing procedures. The role also involves escalating spending queries, acting as a reference point, ensuring compliance with risk and control checks, analyzing information flow, and developing knowledge of corporate bonds. Requirements include proficiency in advanced Excel, SQL skills, familiarity with reference data tools, ability to work independently and collaboratively, willingness to learn, strong computer skills, attention to detail, documentation skills, communication skills, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving abilities. A bachelor's or master's degree in a business-related field is required, along with at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Nurtures relationships with data providers, clients, and service delivery managers.
Contributes to the operational maintenance of reference data products.
Develops a foundational understanding of fixed income and equity investments.
Reviews and updates procedures to ensure they remain current and effective.

Escalates spending queries in a timely manner to address potential issues.
Acts as a reliable reference point for assigned tasks, clients, or processes.
Ensures compliance with risk and control checks in data management.
Analyzes information flow between accounting and custody systems.
Develops a working knowledge of corporate bonds and new bond issuance procedures.
