Job Summary

As a Financial Services Technology Manager, you will lead strategy and transformation programs for financial institutions, focusing on retail banking and digital channels. This role involves gathering and analyzing client information, developing data-driven insights, and leading client interactions to understand business and technology strategies. You will utilize agile methodologies, manage project delivery, and integrate People, Process, and Technology components to provide value-added solutions. The position requires building strong client relationships and contributing to a collaborative work environment.

Must Have

  • Lead financial services strategy and transformation programs, focused on retail banking and channels.
  • Gather and analyze client information to develop data-driven insights.
  • Lead client interactions to understand business and technology strategy and operations.
  • Direct experience of agile product and platform ceremonies and agile development.
  • Lead the gathering and prioritization of business and/or technology requirements.
  • Ability to support program and project management with software development lifecycle knowledge.
  • Use product management skills to drive product-focused delivery for clients.
  • Deliver client projects on time and within budget, exceeding client expectations.
  • Work directly with clients to integrate People, Process and Technology (Data) components.
  • Build and maintain effective, trusting and collaborative client relationships.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop compelling client proposals and thought leadership.
  • Contribute to building a strong PwC culture through employee engagement, mentoring and coaching.
  • Significant experience within Technology management and/or strategy.
  • Significant experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe and Kanban methodologies.
  • Prior work experience with a Financial Services firm or an internal consulting group.
  • Strong understanding of one or more business domains within Retail or Commercial banking.
  • Hands-on experience with Process Automation, Digitization, Full Stack Software Delivery, Cloud migration, and Data strategies.
  • Deep understanding of the software release lifecycle and testing strategies/processes.
  • Proven track record of successful project completion and ability to manage client communications.
  • Strong technical leadership skills and business analysis skills.
  • Proactive and logical approach to information gathering and synthesizing complex ideas.
  • Capable to build genuine and trust-rooted relationships with clients and technical teams.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment of pressing deadlines and changing conditions.
  • Willingness to take initiative and assume responsibility.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams.
  • Ability to travel to client sites across Canada.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of

As a Financial Services Technology Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead financial services strategy and transformation programs, focused on retail banking and channels (digital and contact centre focus)
  • Gathering and analysing client information and develop data-driven insights to support the development of platform and channel business and technology strategies
  • Lead client interactions to understand the client’s business and technology strategy and operations through research, interviews, formulating and testing hypotheses
  • Direct experience of agile product and platform ceremonies, and agile development
  • Lead the gathering and prioritization of business and or technology requirements
  • Ability to support program and project management with first hand knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Use product management skills to drive product-focused delivery for clients
  • Deliver client projects on time and within budget, utilizing tested project management methods, exceeding client expectations through outstanding team performance and stakeholder management
  • Work directly with clients to integrate People, Process and Technology (Data) components into meaningful, value added solutions
  • Build and maintain effective, trusting and collaborative client relationships at multiple levels
  • Collaborate with team members at various levels to lead and develop compelling client proposals, white papers, thought leadership and point of view, describing the business challenge and proposed business and technology solutions, scope, risks and dependencies
  • Contribute to building a strong and sustainable PwC culture through effective employee engagement, mentoring and coaching team members through timely, meaningful verbal and written feedback

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

  • Significant experience within Technology management, and / or strategy
  • Significant experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe and Kanban methodologies
  • Prior work experience with a Financial Services firm or an internal consulting group
  • Strong understanding of one or more business domains within Retail or Commercial banking
  • Hands on experience with technology domains including and not limited to: Process Automation; Digitization; Full Stack Software Delivery; and experience with Cloud migration and Data strategies
  • Deep understanding of the software release lifecycle and testing strategies/processes
  • A proven track record of successful project completion and a demonstrated ability to manage client communications and expectations
  • Strong technical leadership skills and business analysis skills
