Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Focused Factory Manager to lead our production operations for Brakes plant where we produce Air Generation treatment units, Brake Panels and Bogie Brakes. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will have a strong background in production management, a deep understanding of engineering principles, and a proven track record of optimizing manufacturing operations.
Must Have:
  • Manage AGTU, Brake Panels, Bogie Brakes production, ensuring timely, efficient manufacturing, quality, and safety.
  • Ensure safe working environment, enforce protocols, conduct training, promote Behaviour-Based Safety.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous quality control, ensure products meet standards, conduct audits.
  • Lead, mentor, develop production team, fostering collaborative, high-performance work environment.
  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes, implement lean, automation, drive Kaizen initiatives.
  • Collaborate with procurement/logistics for raw materials, inventory, achieve OTD and 100% OTIF.
  • Allocate resources effectively for production schedules, optimize manpower, machinery, equipment utilization.
  • Develop KPIs, measure production performance, track progress, identify improvements, ensure on-time delivery.
  • Control labor, materials, overhead costs within budget, achieving production goals.
  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, Quality, Customer Service for innovation and issue resolution.
  • Optimize consumables usage, reduce waste and costs without compromising quality.
  • Drive new product development with R&D and engineering to bring innovative products to market.
  • Foster continuous improvement culture, encourage idea sharing, enhance operational efficiency, quality, safety.
  • Encourage women in assembly/testing, foster recruitment, engage in continuous improvement projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will have a strong background in production management, a deep understanding of engineering principles, and a proven track record of optimizing manufacturing operations.

Main responsibilities:

  • Production Leadership: Manage the entire production process for AGTU, Brake Panels and Bogie Brakes, ensuring timely and efficient manufacturing operations while maintaining product quality and safety standards.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure a safe and compliant working environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety training, and promoting Behaviour-Based Safety practices.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure that all products meet or exceed quality standards, conducting regular audits and inspections.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, technicians, and production staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously analyse and improve manufacturing processes, implementing lean methodologies, automation, and best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity. Drive Kaizen initiatives to encourage a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure a smooth flow of raw materials and components required for production, maintaining optimal inventory levels. Achieve OTD of products to customers and ensure 100% OTIF.
  • Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively to meet production schedules, ensuring that manpower, machinery, and equipment are utilized efficiently.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure production performance, track progress, and identify areas for improvement. Ensure on-time delivery of products to customers.
  • Budget Management: Work within budget constraints, controlling costs related to labour, materials, and overhead expenses while achieving production goals.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, R&D, Quality, Customer Service and other departments to drive product innovation, resolve technical issues, and introduce new products or improvements to existing ones.
  • Industrial Consumables Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize the usage of industrial consumables, reducing waste and costs without compromising product quality.
  • New Product Development: Drive new product development initiatives, collaborating with R&D and engineering teams to bring innovative products to market.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging idea sharing, implementing feedback loops, and initiating projects to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and safety.
  • Diversity: Encourage women employees to carry out assembly and testing activities of all products, foster culture of recruiting women employees, engage them in continuous improvement projects
