This Global Manufacturing Partner Manager, NPI role involves managing global Agreement Manufacturers/ODMs, focusing on New Product Introduction (NPI). You'll work with Product Development teams and Engineers to ensure suppliers meet cost and schedule commitments. Responsibilities include developing category sourcing strategies, defining cost models, leading RFPs, managing supplier relationships, and partnering with stakeholders across Hardware, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering. You'll be involved in developing systems and products, understanding Google's roadmaps, and resolving supply chain issues. The role requires experience in supplier management, particularly within the compute, storage, networking, or data center infrastructure space, and familiarity with NPI and sustaining environments. This position is part of a technical supply chain team dedicated to operational excellence to support Google's rapid growth.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical, Engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in supplier management or sourcing.
  • Experience in supplier management in the compute, storage, networking, or data center infrastructure space.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration in a Technical or Engineering field.
  • Experience in managing Agreement Manufacturers partners for Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA’s) and systems including cost models.
  • Experience with new product development environments (e.g., schedule, cost, urgency, etc.).
  • Experience in leading new business selection decisions.
  • Ability to manage suppliers in New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining environments.

About the job

In this role, you will manage global Agreement Manufacturers/Original Device Manufacturing (ODM) as a key relationship owner. You will be focused on New Product Introduction (NPI) and work with Product Development teams and Engineers to motivate suppliers to deliver on cost and schedule commitments. You will be involved in the development of systems and products in an assigned category (e.g., Machine Learning, compute, networking, storage, etc.) and will understand Google’s roadmaps and own the CM engagements. You will lead and add value to cross-functional projects, as well as understand and resolve supply chain issues and risks. You will be a part of a technical supply chain team that motivates improvement and ensures operational excellence in support of Google's rapid growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop category sourcing strategies in a given product vertical and understand the technical roadmap and industry trends that impact needs.
  • Define cost motivators, develop cost models, and establish cost analysis.
  • Lead Request for Proposal (RFP), discuss agreements, and the supplier selection process.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance in alignment with technology, cost, quality, and delivery drivers.
  • Partner with stakeholders in Hardware, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering functions.
