Must have:

  • Ensure compliance with product lifecycle and development procedures.
  • Master's Degree/PhD in physics or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience leading R&D in medical devices.
  • Minimum 4 years of leadership experience.
  • Ability to drive data-informed decisions.
  • Passion for driving medical device development and design.
  • Ability to problem-solve complex issues.
  • Experience working with suppliers.
Good to have:
  • Fiber optics (OFDR) or system engineering background
  • Experience having direct reports

Job Details

As the Group Leader for FORS Technology, you will spearhead the research and development efforts while overseeing the implementation of innovative products and services. Your role involves coordinating multifaceted teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget constraints. You'll be responsible for managing personnel, assessing emerging technologies, and aligning departmental objectives with long-term business strategies.

Your Role:

  • Your impact extends beyond mere department management; you'll be steering the group towards adding maximum value to the business, aligning strategies with current and future customer needs.
  • You'll lead a high-performing team and collaborate with various stakeholders, both within and outside the department, to drive innovative projects.
  • Key responsibilities include personnel management, assessing emerging technologies and determining how to translate them into product development roadmaps.
  • Keep abreast of technical developments through literature, technical contacts, and industry competition, and ensuring optimal project execution to exceed customer expectations.
  • Ensures compliance with product lifecycle and development procedures and processes as well as all applicable requirements.

You're the Right Fit if:

  • Master's Degree/PhD in physics or equivalent (fiber optics (OFDR) or system engineering is an advantage).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with a proven track record of leading a research and development group developing medical devices within a complex technological environment.
  • Minimum 4 years of leadership experience (having direct reports is an advantage).
  • Ability to drive data-informed decisions, passion for driving medical device development and design.
  • Ability to problem-solve and break down complex issues into manageable elements.
  • Experience working with suppliers.

*This position is located in Netherlands, it isn't open for relocation.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.

Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
