Job Description

Join the DEFSI engineering service team as a Gyrotron Test Engineer on the Vélizy campus. You will be responsible for defining test and conditioning plans for gyrotrons, conducting installation and high-power RF emission tests, ensuring safety, and preparing documentation. You will also analyze and resolve technical issues, contribute to staff training, and participate in prototype manufacturing follow-up and feedback. This role involves travel in France and abroad.
Must have:
  • Define test and conditioning plans for gyrotrons
  • Conduct installation and high-power RF emission tests of gyrotrons
  • Ensure safety during tests
  • Prepare documentary deliverables
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues
  • Contribute to the training of CCI personnel on gyrotron tests
  • Conduct Klystron installations and tests as needed
  • Participate in prototype manufacturing follow-up and technical feedback
  • Bac+5 degree (engineering school, physics dominant)
  • 3 years of experience in a similar position
  • In-depth knowledge of hyperfrequencies, electromagnetism, mechanical assembly technologies (machining, brazing, welding), vacuum technology, high voltage
  • General knowledge of high voltage, hydraulic systems

Post missions:

Within the DEFSI engineering service, the gyrotron test engineer acts within the gyrotron development team to:

  • Define test and conditioning plans for gyrotrons
  • Conduct the tube installation and the conditioning and high-power RF emission tests of gyrotrons, in compliance with safety standards for personnel and the prevention of material accidents. Tests conducted internally (KGP5) or in the facilities of our partner laboratories (KIT, EPFL, MPI-IPP) or Clients (CEA, GA,...)
  • Develop documentary deliverables
  • Analyze and resolve problems encountered by relying on internal or external expertise
  • Contribute to the training of CCI personnel on gyrotron tests
  • Conduct Klystron installations and tests according to business needs
  • Participate in the manufacturing follow-up of prototypes, feedback, and the consideration of technical facts

Travel in France and abroad will be required.

Your profile:

With a Bac+5 degree (e.g., general engineering school or specialized with a physics major), you have 3 years of experience in a similar position.

You possess in-depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas: hyperfrequencies, electromagnetism, mechanical assembly technologies (machining, brazing, welding), vacuum technology, high voltage.

You have general knowledge of high voltage, hydraulic systems.
