We are looking for our future Data Engineer as part of the launch of our new entity CortAIx:

CortAIx is the AI accelerator that will equip armed forces, aircraft manufacturers, and all critical infrastructure operators with highly secured solutions providing them with greater efficiency in data analysis and decision-making, while taking into account specific constraints such as cybersecurity, embedded systems, and frugality, linked to critical environments.

Within this new organization, we represent the "cortAIx Factory" axis which aims to accelerate the qualification and industrialization of AI development tools as well as use cases for system data. Thales already equips its systems with AI and continues to identify new use cases to accelerate performance, such as mission planning, air traffic management, and drone and robot control.

WHO ARE YOU?

• You hold a Master 2 (BAC +5) from an Engineering school or a university degree and you have experience in Data / AI Engineering, including the deployment and maintenance of AI models
• Knowledge of big data technologies, cloud computing, and on-premise environments
• Experience in software engineering, MLOps, and DevOps practices
• You demonstrate motivation, autonomy, and initiative
• You demonstrate high availability and strong responsiveness
• You are recognized for your team spirit and enjoy collaborative work

SKILLS:

• Deep expertise in Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, MapReduce, MongoDB, Cassandra, allowing you to design and optimize data architectures capable of efficiently processing large volumes of information
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C and Python, as well as the use of back-end frameworks for developing robust applications
• Good knowledge of cloud and on-premise environments for deploying scalable AI solutions
• A solid understanding of DevOps practices, promoting a culture of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), and DevSecOps approaches to integrate security from the early stages of development, using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI and Docker for container orchestration
• Problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a strong aptitude for collaboration and communication to work effectively in a team
• Experience in creating and maintaining data pipelines, in collaboration with Data/AI scientists, with a particular focus on the efficiency and scalability of AI systems

WHAT WE CAN DO TOGETHER:

As a member of the CortAIx AI delivery team, under the direction of the Head of AI Engineering (CTO), you will occupy a central position facilitating interactions between the various Global Business Units (GBUs) of Thales, the AI Lab, as well as external clients.

By joining the CortAIx Data Engineering team, Thales' artificial intelligence innovation center, you will play a crucial role in revolutionizing AI technologies within the defense industry and beyond. Your missions will include:

• Using your in-depth data engineering skills to revolutionize data collection, processing, and storage methods. Your contribution will be essential to the creation of advanced AI systems, making data more accessible, secure, and exploitable for the entire organization.
• Developing comprehensive technical documentation to clearly define AI project specifications and data requirements. Your work will ensure that project objectives are understood and achieved through close collaboration between the different CortAIx teams.
• Acting as the main point of contact between the Data Engineering team, internal and external clients, and other Thales professionals. Your role will be to facilitate fluid communication and coordinate development efforts to ensure the alignment and effectiveness of AI projects.
• Applying DevOps and Continuous Delivery methodologies to boost the AI development cycle. You will leverage cutting-edge back-end technologies, including programming languages such as Python, Java, and tools such as MongoDB, integrating agile practices for rapid and secure innovation.
• Configuring and maintaining the essential tools for DevOps/DevSecOps operations, including Build/CI/CD systems and code repositories, to support a culture of agile and secure development within CortAIx.
• Managing interactions with on-premise infrastructures, getting involved in all aspects of the integration and maintenance of AI solutions. You will develop robust and secure AI solutions, adapted to the strict requirements of the defense sector, optimizing project performance and efficiency while respecting security and sovereignty constraints.
• At the heart of CortAIx, you will be at the forefront of data exploitation and artificial intelligence, pushing the limits of what is possible in the field of defense and beyond, while working for ethical and responsible AI.
