This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of high-quality clinical measurement parameters for patient monitoring systems within an interdisciplinary R&D team at Philips Medizin Systeme Böblingen GmbH. The role involves developing electronic measurement circuits, defining design requirements, overseeing the entire development process from documentation to series production, and conducting comprehensive tests. The expert will also provide technical guidance to junior engineers and develop strategies for integrating partner solutions. This challenging role requires a strong background in sensor and hardware development, ideally with experience in EMC-compliant design and medical technology regulations.

Must Have

  • Develop electronic measurement circuits for physiological parameters or partner solutions.
  • Derive and create design requirements and technical specifications.
  • Take overall technical responsibility for the entire development process.
  • Build test setups, plan and conduct development-accompanying tests.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient partner solution integration.
  • Coordinate interface specifications with external partners.
  • Completed studies in electrical engineering, medical technology, or comparable.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in circuit development, simulation, and testing.
  • Very good English skills.

Good to Have

  • Experience in EMC-compliant design and IEC 60601-1.
  • Knowledge and experience in the regulated field of medical technology.
  • Willingness to learn German at short notice.

In this position, you have the opportunity

to participate in an interdisciplinary team in the further development and new development of high-quality clinical measurement parameters for patient monitoring monitors. We are looking for reinforcement for new exciting projects, where varied and challenging activities in the field of sensor & hardware development await you.

You will be responsible for the following topics:

  • Development of electronic measurement circuits for recording physiological parameters or for integrating external partner solutions
  • Derivation and creation of design requirements and associated technical specifications
  • Overall technical responsibility for the entire development process – from documentation to product development to transfer to series production
  • Construction of test setups as well as planning and execution of development-accompanying tests
  • Technical guidance and support for young engineers
  • Development and implementation of strategies for efficient and rapid integration of partner solutions
  • Coordination of interface specifications with external partners

You are part of:

Philips Medizin Systeme Böblingen GmbH. We develop and produce patient monitoring systems for the worldwide market. These are primarily used in emergency and intensive care medicine, pregnancy and newborn monitoring, during operations and in anesthesia. Our R&D Measurements team develops market-leading clinical measurements (including ECG, blood pressure, temperature, oxygen saturation) and supports the integration of partner solutions, which, as part of a monitoring system, support clinical staff in monitoring, diagnosing and treating patients.

To be successful in this position, you need the following knowledge and experience:

  • Completed studies in electrical engineering, medical technology or a comparable field of study
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the development of circuits/circuit parts as well as their simulation and testing
  • Ideally, experience in EMC-compliant design and IEC 60601-1
  • Independent, analytical and goal-oriented work
  • High quality awareness and willingness to take responsibility
  • Ability to familiarize yourself with complex issues
  • Teamwork skills and enjoyment of cross-functional collaboration
  • Knowledge and experience in the regulated field of medical technology are advantageous
  • Very good English skills, possibly willingness to learn German at short notice.
