The Head of Business & Client Development will lead a team of over 20 commercial experts, focusing on strengthening PwC's market position and client relationships in key sectors. This role involves driving commercial development, building long-term client relationships, and ensuring data-driven innovation in client service. The successful candidate will be a strategic and commercial sparring partner for partners, fostering synergy within the team and collaborating across business units to achieve growth ambitions. This position requires strong leadership, commercial acumen, and excellent stakeholder management skills.

At PwC Netherlands, you get the chance to lead our Business & Client Development team and, with this team, play a crucial role in further strengthening our market position. You will be part of a dynamic and innovative work environment with many nationally and internationally driven colleagues.

What does your work look like?

Within the Business Unit (BU) Markets, responsible for marketing and business development activities (~ 120 FTE), we are looking for a driven and experienced manager to lead the Business & Client Development team, a merger of 2 current teams where Business Developers and Account Managers work together with the business to strengthen the position in key sectors and with clients.

Building long-term client relationships, strengthening the position and revenue, and enhancing the client experience are the main objectives.

In this role, you will manage a team of over 20 commercial experts, with a diversity of skills and focus on business development and account management for the key accounts. You ensure that the different colleagues and expertise reinforce each other and create the right synergy for our clients and sector teams.

You are a strategic and commercial sparring partner for a wide range of stakeholders, including partners in the business, such as Industry leaders or Client Lead Partners of our key accounts.

You work closely with colleagues from the entire Business Unit Markets and colleagues from PwC Global. You are part of the management team of the BU Markets. The MT works as one team and ensures that colleagues collaborate intensively to make maximum impact on the growth ambitions.

  • Commercial development of important industries, sectors, and clients;
  • Strengthen our position in key industries and sectors, supported by campaigns and activations in close collaboration with the various teams within Markets;
  • Build long-term client relationships and stimulate growth with key accounts;
  • Ensure we act based on the latest market information and insights;
  • Innovate in how we serve our clients;
  • Inspire and connect regarding our client strategy and client experience;
  • People management: inspiring, developing, and managing the team.

In addition, you have:

  • A completed university degree, preferably in business or commercial economics;
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in business development and account management at large B2B organizations, preferably in professional services;
  • Extensive team and change management experience;
  • Excellent communication skills, both in Dutch and English.
