Job Summary

As Head of IT, you will orchestrate the studio's entire technical infrastructure. Reporting to the General Manager and collaborating with the Head of CG and Head of Pipe, you will ensure the performance, security, and fluidity of a complex 3D pipeline primarily based on Linux, Maya, Houdini, Nuke, ShotGrid, and an internal render farm. You will lead a team of 4 people across Paris and Angoulême, providing strong technical legitimacy and fostering a clear IT vision.

Must Have

  • Develop the IT roadmap and lead infrastructure projects
  • Manage the IT budget (investments, licenses, renewals)
  • Propose innovative solutions and anticipate future studio needs
  • Excellent command of Linux (administration, automation, troubleshooting, Debian 11, Rocky 9, Proxmox, TrueNAS) and Windows
  • Strong experience in complex IT infrastructures (servers, networks, storage, virtualization: L2, VPN, switching, firewall, routing)
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash), database administration (PostgreSQL, MySQL), configuration tools (SaltStack)
  • Solid knowledge of cybersecurity (best practices, standards, strategies)
  • Concrete knowledge of creative production environments (animation, VFX, video games)
  • Confirmed management experience
  • Impeccable sense of service and a "problem ", "solution" culture
  • Ability to communicate clearly under pressure
  • Operational professional English

🎯 Your mission

As Head of IT, you are the conductor of the studio's entire technical infrastructure.

Under the responsibility of the general manager and in collaboration with the Head of CG and the Head of Pipe, you guarantee the performance, security, and fluidity of a complex 3D pipeline that relies mainly on Linux, Maya, Houdini, Nuke, ShotGrid, and an internal render farm.

You lead a team of 4 people spread between Paris and Angoulême (2 admins, 2 technicians), and you bring strong technical legitimacy, while uniting around a clear and relevant vision of IT.

🛠 Your key responsibilities

🏆 Leadership & supervision

  • Inspire, support, and develop your IT team.
  • Ensure strong cohesion between the two sites and solid processes.
  • Be a reliable and respected technical support point.

⚙️ Infrastructure, systems and networks

  • Manage server infrastructures, multi-site networks, storage, and backup solutions.
  • Ensure the performance of Linux environments used in production.
  • Optimize and supervise the render farm, the studio's true lung.
  • Support the continuous evolution and modernization of the IT architecture.

🔐 Cybersecurity

  • Define and deploy the studio's cybersecurity strategy.
  • Coordinate various specialized service providers.
  • Ensure the security of production content and assets by ensuring compliance with standards (TPN, ...).

🎨 Support for creation & pipeline

  • Work hand in hand with artistic, technical, and pipeline teams.
  • Understand their needs, constraints, and urgencies.
  • Ensure that IT is an accelerator – not a brake.

📈 Strategy & management

  • Develop the IT roadmap, lead infrastructure projects (networks, storage, redesigns, modernization, implementation of a new data room, increase in workstations and render farm in anticipation of feature film production...) in a context of significant growth.
  • Manage the IT budget (investments, licenses, renewals...).
  • Propose innovative solutions and anticipate the studio's future needs.

📚 Desired profile

Your strengths

  • Excellent command of Linux environments (administration, automation, troubleshooting. Debian 11, Rocky 9, Proxmox, TrueNAS) and Windows.
  • Strong experience in complex IT infrastructures: servers, multi-site networks, storage, virtualization (L2, VPN, switching, firewall, routing).
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash), database administration (PostgreSQL, MySQL), configuration tools (SaltStack).
  • Solid knowledge of cybersecurity (best practices, standards, strategies).
  • Concrete knowledge of creative production environments (ideally animation, VFX, or video games).
  • Natural legitimacy with technical teams.
  • Ability to bridge artistic constraints and IT requirements.
