Job Description

Iron Mountain is seeking a Head of Strategic Finance for its Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) division. This role reports to the CFO of ALM and Data Centers, focusing on optimizing top and bottom-line performance. Key responsibilities include driving strategic multi-year planning, M&A due diligence, commercial deal modeling, cost reduction, and pricing optimizations. The successful candidate will be part of a high-performing team dedicated to delivering outstanding results for the ALM business, contributing to Iron Mountain's mission of providing expert, sustainable solutions in information management.
Must have:
  • Act as the focal point for ALM strategy development and lead ALM’s strategic multi-year plan process.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clarity and understanding across all ALM leaders, qualitative research, and quantitative modeling (P&L and capital).
  • Assist the ALM leadership with developing their tactical continuous improvement plans as needed.
  • Lead and manage ALM’s capital budget and ensure capital allocation is directed towards highest value areas.
  • Drive commercial and financial due diligence as further ALM’s global ambition.
  • Identify, develop and maintain key KPIs that support in understanding whether ALM is on-track for towards the strategic plan.
  • Represent the ALM business unit at key corporate meetings and serve as a proxy for the CFO as requested.
  • Acts in accordance with the expectations of a leader by demonstrating active listening, intellectual curiosity, high collaborative spirit and engagement, and a neutral mindset open to new ideas and alternative perspectives.
  • Collaborate with various teams to design and execute on ALM communications for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with teams on all the regular ALM leadership and planning forums and communication channels.
  • Support the effectiveness of the various ALM communications platforms by making recommendations for further enhancements.

Head of Strategic Finance, ALM

We are seeking an exceptional candidate for the Head of Strategic Finance ALM. Reporting to the CFO of ALM and Data Centers, you will have the opportunity to be part of a high performing team focused on delivering outstanding results for the ALM business. Specifically, the Head of Strategic Finance will be driving optimization initiatives to drive both top and bottom-line improvement and ensuring ALM is delivering in line with performance and budget expectations. This also entails managing strategic initiatives including but not limited to, strategic multi-year planning, M&A due diligence, commercial deal modeling, cost reduction, and pricing optimizations on behalf of the EVP of the BU and CFO of ALM and Data Centers

Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development and Execution: Act as the focal point for ALM strategy development and lead ALM’s strategic multi-year plan process. This includes collaborating with stakeholders to ensure clarity and understanding across all ALM leaders, qualitative research, and quantitative modeling (P&L and capital)
  • P&L Optimization: You will assist the ALM leadership with developing their tactical continuous improvement plans as needed, including: resource capacity planning, 3PL optimization, indirect-spend analysis, real estate optimization, commercial / pricing reviews
  • Capital Allocation & Optimization: Lead and manage ALM’s capital budget and ensure capital allocation is directed towards highest value areas.
  • M&A Due Diligence: Drive commercial and financial due diligence as further ALM’s global ambition
  • KPI Development and Tracking: identify, develop and maintain key KPIs that support in understanding whether ALM is on-track for towards the strategic plan
  • Thought and Behavioral Leadership: Represent the ALM business unit at key corporate meetings and serve as a proxy for the CFO as requested. Acts in accordance with the expectations of a leader by demonstrating active listening, intellectual curiosity, high collaborative spirit and engagement, and a neutral mindset open to new ideas and alternative perspectives.
  • Complex Communication: Collaborate with various teams to design and execute on ALM communications for internal and external stakeholders. The audiences include Employees, Senior Leaders, Customers, IRM Board of Directors, Analysts and Investors as appropriate. Partner with teams on all the regular ALM leadership and planning forums and communication channels including Monthly Calls, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), All-Hands, Town Halls etc, and support the effectiveness of the various ALM communications platforms by making recommendations for further enhancements in support of the ALM business

Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:

  • 10-15 years business experience, including a number of years in a senior financial or operational focused role
  • Strong track-record of career progression
  • Trusted advisor to senior executives, demonstrating an exceptional level of emotional intelligence and ability to navigate and problem solve in complex and ambiguous circumstance
  • Possesses a strategic mindset, with the ability to convert strategy into practical plans.
  • Ability to influence, lead and guide leaders at all levels
  • Strong personal communication skills including the ability to simplify complex information for appropriate audiences
  • Strong sense of urgency and results orientation
  • Capable of acting as an effective change agent, leading change initiatives across the ALM organization
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity; is trusted as a leader.
  • Must enjoy the requirement to be highly flexible and take on a wide range of initiatives and manage multiple projects to a very high standard
  • Knowledge of and networks within Iron Mountain would be advantageous
  • International experience and global mindset is a plus
