This role involves serving as a trusted HR coach and advisor to leaders, guiding them through challenges and instigating change. The HR Business Partner will develop strategic partnerships, assist managers with daily people matters, and direct actions on disciplinary measures. Key responsibilities include implementing change management, ensuring compliance with employment law, and collaborating on strategies for talent retention, engagement, and development. The role also involves providing guidance on compensation programs, analyzing People trends, and overseeing operational HR systems for APAC locations.

  • Support implementation of change management plans and continuous improvement projects.
  • Sustain in-depth knowledge of employment law and compliance programs.
  • Collaborate with managers on strategies for retaining, engaging, and developing teams.
  • Provide strategic guidance on compensation programs and total rewards.
  • Apply analytical rigor to People trends and develop action plans.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines (business partnering, OD, recruitment, learning, compensation, employee relations, diversity, performance management).
  • Ensure payroll compliance and reporting for responsible countries.
  • Provide local HR support for international assignees and manage statutory compliance.
  • Minimum professional Qualification/Degree in Human Resources or relevant field.
  • 12-15 years of HR experience, with minimum 5 years in an HR leadership role.
  • Experience with labor law, organizational effectiveness, performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate structure, HR operations, local employment regulations, payroll, social security, and tax compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal, advisory, and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of English language.
  • Strategic Mindset, Critical Thinking, Business Acumen, Problem Solving.
Good to have:
  • Other regional languages would be an added advantage.

About This Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Serve as a trusted coach and advisor, guiding leaders through challenges and instigating change within their teams

2. Develop a real strategic partnership in assisting managers/leaders in their daily people matters and key initiatives

3. Direct actions towards key stakeholders regarding disciplinary measures such as performance plans, terminations, grievance management, investigations, and coordination with labor courts.

4. Engage in and support the implementation of change management plans, continuous improvement projects, and wield influence over various partners within CAE

5. Sustain an in-depth knowledge of employment law, compliance programs, stay abreast of current events, policies, and offer guidance to leaders.

6. Collaborate with managers and leaders to craft impactful strategies for retaining, engaging, and developing high-performing teams while addressing key issues

7. Provide strategic guidance and advice to leaders on application of compensation programs, competitive pay practices, and total rewards, ensuring the company remains competitive internally and externally while attracting, retaining, and motivating top Talent

8. Apply analytical rigor to delve deeply into People trends, developing action plans to proactively address concerns

9. Strong collaboration and relationship with COEs and HR Business Operations

10. Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including business partnering, organizational development, recruitment, learning, compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management

11. Keep informed, updated, and communicate various HR policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations

12. Ensure payroll (outsourced) compliance and reporting for Countries responsible are managed appropriately and compliant

13. Provide local HR support for international assignees locally and ensure statutory compliance matters are managed for international assignees. Work closely with Cross Border (Regional/Global) team should there be any challenges related to international assignees as and when required

14. Escalate any non-conformance or potential actions which may have negative legal implications for the Company

15. Lead and support execution of local and global HR initiatives for countries supported

16. Responsible to oversee operational work systems, administrative for respective locations within APAC

17. Maintain close contact with business leaders in support as the business partner

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Minimum professional Qualification/Degree in Human Resources or any other relevant field

2. Minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience within HR, Change Management, Organizational and Competence development holding minimum of 5 years of HR leadership role.

3. Experience with labor law, organizational effectiveness mechanism, performance management

4. Strong knowledge and understanding of corporate structure, HR operations skills, matrix/MNC organizational processes, complexity, local employment regulations, payroll and social security requirements as well as tax compliance

5. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work efficiently both within a team environment and with limited supervision

6. Good knowledge of English language, other regional languages would be an added advantage;

7. Structured, proactive & innovative

8. Mature, analytical, dynamic, independent and self-motivated with can do attitude

9. Complexity & Problem-Solving Skills - Judgment is required to analyze problems and to determine objectives. Solutions are derived from limited information and often require consultation with colleagues, professional contacts, management, or interpreting Company policy
