Job Summary

Kailera is seeking a highly motivated Biostatistics Summer Intern to join its biometrics team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, applying statistical principles to real-world clinical development challenges. The intern will work closely with experienced biostatisticians and cross-functional teams to support innovative clinical study designs, statistical analysis, and related research projects, contributing to Kailera's mission of developing therapies for obesity and related conditions.

Must Have

  • Conduct simulation studies to evaluate statistical models’ performance
  • Perform exploratory data analyses and contribute to the interpretation of clinical trial results
  • Contribute to documentation of statistical methodologies and support potential publications
  • Currently enrolled in a master’s graduate program in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field
  • Completed at least one year of study in the master's program
  • Proficient with at least one statistical software such as SAS, R, or Python

Good to Have

  • Experience with simulations or advanced statistical modeling

What You’ll Do:

We are seeking a highly motivated Biostatistics Summer Intern to join our biometrics team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry and apply statistical principles to real-world clinical development challenges.

As an intern, you will work closely with experienced biostatisticians and cross-functional teams to support innovative clinical study designs, statistical analysis, and related research projects.

Required location: Waltham, MA (hub-based, onsite 3-4 days per week)

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct simulation studies to evaluate statistical models’ performance under different clinical scenarios to better support innovative clinical study designs
  • Perform exploratory data analyses and contribute to the interpretation of clinical trial results
  • Contribute to documentation of statistical methodologies and support potential publications

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a master’s graduate program in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field at an accredited college or university and have completed at least one year of study
  • Proficient with at least one statistical software such as SAS, R, or Python
  • Experience with simulations or advanced statistical modeling is highly preferred
  • A team player with strong communication and collaboration skills

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in a master’s graduate program in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field

For Internship Roles:

The hourly rate has been determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, location, and internal equity. We offer comprehensive health coverage to support your well-being, along with a monthly wellness stipend to help you prioritize self-care.

Hourly Pay

$25 - $30 USD

For Full Time Roles:

This range represents the company’s good-faith estimate of the salary at the time of posting. Actual pay may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
