Your daily life

Between Nantes and Angers, close to the Atlantic coast, our Cholet site, predominantly R&D with a strong industrial footprint, specializes in defense radio communications, satellite communication systems, and cybersecurity solutions.

6-month internship located in Cholet (49)

The Thales Hardware Center designs complex electronic boards respecting electromagnetic and security standards, crucial for preventing leaks and protecting the cybersecurity of sensitive equipment.

You will join the SMN (digital modules service) department, one of whose roles is to design and integrate the cybersecurity modules of Thales communication equipment.

You will set up a digital communication link (SPI, I2C...) on a conducted electromagnetic leakage demonstrator, and study (measure) the compromise of this link through its power network.

The subject is part of a thesis.

Your missions:

• Study the bibliography on the state of the art of information compromises by conducted electromagnetic leaks and their protection means.
• Implement or modify simple digital communications (SPI, I2C...).
• Measure information leakage levels on electronic boards, by contact and near field.
• Propose methods for attenuating leaks.

The subject is part of a thesis.

Your profile:

Are you in your final year of engineering school or equivalent and looking for a 6-month internship?

You have technical skills in:

• C/C++ programming
• Power electronics, digital (theory)
• Operation of microcontrollers
• Temporal measurement techniques (oscilloscope) and frequency measurement techniques (spectrum analyzer)
• Signal processing with Matlab Simulink

Ideally, you have:

• Notions of electromagnetic compatibility phenomena (conducted and radiated)
• Notions of printed circuit board routing
