Mercer Pacific is seeking an Investment Services Operations Specialist in Melbourne. This hybrid role requires at least three days in the office. The specialist will manage risk and governance, serve as the Investment Services Risk Champion, assist with fund establishment and transitions, oversee corporate actions, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance. Candidates need a Bachelor's degree, 3-5 years of financial services experience, and a strong understanding of Australian financial regulations.
Must have:
  • Support the effective management of risk and governance within the Investment Services team.
  • Serve as the Investment Services Risk Champion by managing incidents and providing training.
  • Assist with fund establishment, terminations, and investment manager transitions.
  • Oversee corporate and class actions, stale price reviews and coordinate with third-party service providers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Risk & Compliance, Internal Audit, and Vendor Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, preferably in investment operations, fund management, or custodial services.
  • Strong understanding of Australian financial services regulations, especially related to superannuation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while meeting deadlines.

Investment Services Operations Specialist

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Investment Services team at Mercer Pacific. This role will be based in Melbourne. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:

  • Support the effective management of risk and governance within the Investment Services team by identifying operational risks, implementing controls, and promoting best practices.
  • Serve as the Investment Services Risk Champion by managing incidents through to closure, participating in risk training, providing training to team members, and representing the team in risk management meetings.
  • Assist with fund establishment, terminations, and investment manager transitions, including liaising with custodians and the Fund Implementation and Product teams to plan, execute and review product changes.
  • Oversee corporate and class actions, stale price reviews and coordinate with third-party service providers to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Risk & Compliance, Internal Audit, and Vendor Management to ensure controls are robust and processes are compliant.
