IT Support Specialist


JOB OVERVIEW

Plan A Technologies is looking for a dedicated and experienced IT Support Specialist with a deep understanding of Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) to join our IT team. In this position, you will manage and maintain critical IT infrastructure and support our growing organization.  In this critical role, you will be the go-to expert for all MIM-related issues, providing advanced troubleshooting, support, and maintenance to ensure the smooth and secure operation of our identity management infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing cloud services, device management, identity management, network security, and Windows OS troubleshooting. You will be responsible for supporting our IT environment and providing technical assistance to internal users. This is a fast-paced job with room for significant career growth. 


Please note: you must have at least 3+ years of experience as an IT Support Engineer and strong experience with Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) to be considered for this role.

 


JOB RESPONSIBILITY

  • Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM): Provide expert-level technical support for and its related components, including synchronization service, portal, service and data warehouse, and various connectors (Active Directory, SQL, HR systems, etc.). Diagnose and resolve complex MIM-related issues, including synchronization errors, data discrepancies, portal functionality problems, and provisioning/deprovisioning failures. Monitor MIM system health and performance, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact users. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for MIM configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and support processes.

  • G-Suite Administration: Manage user accounts, security settings, and overall system configurations. Provide end-user support and resolve issues related to G-Suite applications (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, etc.).

  • Intune (Windows MDM) Management: Configure and maintain device management policies for Windows devices. Oversee the deployment of applications and security configurations via Microsoft Intune.

  • AWS IAM & GCP IAM: Manage user permissions, roles, and access controls within AWS and GCP environments. Implement security best practices for managing cloud resources and identities.

  • Azure Entra ID (formerly Azure AD): Manage identity and access for users, applications, and devices. Implement conditional access policies and multi-factor authentication (MFA).

  • OpenVPN Server Management: Maintain and support the OpenVPN server infrastructure for secure remote access. Configure user accounts, certificates, and troubleshoot connection issues.

  • Windows OS Troubleshooting and Support: Deep understanding of Windows operating system architecture. Provide advanced troubleshooting for Windows OS issues, including log analysis and reading, registry configuration, and system installation. Assist users with OS-related problems, performance tuning, and error resolution. Perform detailed log analysis to diagnose issues and identify solutions. Modify and manage Windows Registry settings to optimize performance and resolve issues.

  • Microsoft Defender for Business: Implement and maintain Microsoft Defender for Business policies to ensure endpoint security. Monitor security alerts and respond to threats in a timely manner. Configure security settings and manage user permissions within the Defender platform.



EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in IT support, system administration, and cloud services management.

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical support role with a strong focus on Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) and its preceding versions (FIM 2010 R2, MIIS 2003).

  • In-depth knowledge of MIM architecture, components, and functionalities.

  • Expertise in troubleshooting MIM synchronization rules, management agents, and run profiles.

  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and advanced MIM administration.

  • Experience with Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).

  • Familiarity with SQL Server for MIM database management and troubleshooting.

  • Strong proficiency in:

    • G-Suite (Google Workspace) Administration

    • Microsoft Intune for Windows device management (MDM).

    • AWS IAM and GCP IAM (Identity and Access Management).

    • Azure Entra ID (Identity and Access Management).

    • OpenVPN server configuration and support.

    • Windows OS troubleshooting, log reading, and registry management.

    • Microsoft Defender for Business.

  • Good understanding of networking concepts (VPNs, DNS, firewalls, etc.).

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and work autonomously

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

  • Initiative and drive to do great things.
