Job Summary
Kforce's client, a large semiconductor company in Fremont, CA, is seeking an experienced Lab Service Engineer for a contract role. This position involves performing preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrading, and calibrating equipment in the applications lab. The engineer will support R&D activities for Process Development, Hardware, and Software Engineering departments, including customer demos. Responsibilities also include installing and supporting prototype equipment, potentially developing new procedures. The role requires 5-7 years of experience and may involve domestic and international travel to resolve tool/system issues. The ideal candidate will be adept with helium leak checking and possess a strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting background.
Must Have
- Responsible for preventative/corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and calibration on equipment.
- Performs maintenance using required Personal Protective Equipment (APR/SCBA).
- Works closely with and supports Process Development, Hardware, and Software Engineering R&D activities and customer demos/commits.
- Installs and supports prototype equipment, developing procedures as needed.
- May be required to travel domestically and internationally to customer sites.
- 5-7 years of experience as a Lab Service Engineer.
- Experience as a Field Support Engineer or Product Support Engineer, Lab Service Technician.
- Experienced/adept with helium leak checking.
- Strong electro-mechanical work/troubleshooting background.
- Able to work with minimal supervision from schematics, P&IDs, signal lists, and procedures.
- Able to learn and utilize specialized applications needed to perform tasks.
- Good written and oral English communication skills.
- Have good decision making skills.

Job Description
Kforce's client, a large semiconductor company in Fremont, CA, is hiring an experienced Lab Service Engineer. This role will work a Monday-Friday swing shift schedule, 2pm-10:30pm PST.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preventative/corrective maintenance, trouble shooting, upgrades, and calibration on equipment in the applications lab
- Performs the preventative/corrective maintenance using required Personal Protective Equipment which may include APR (Air Purifying Respirator) and/or SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) for safe handling of hazardous materials
- Works closely with and supports Process Development, Hardware, and Software Engineering department's R&D activities and customer demos/commits
- Installs and supports prototype equipment and may develop procedures and documentation as needed in support of design and R&D activities which likely have little or no written procedures
- May be required to travel domestically and internationally to customer sites to address tool/system issues that cannot be resolved without their support
- This job may also include aspects of field and/or direct customer support and is not limited to system hardware and software
- Occasionally may train Field Service Engineers, Engineering Technicians, other Laboratory Service Engineers, or Process Engineers from regional accounts
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience as a Lab Service Engineer
- Experience as a Field Support Engineer or Product Support Engineer, Lab Service Technician

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
