It's a full-time role with on-call duties.
Must Have
- Trade certificate or equivalent in laboratory subjects or chemical process

Job Description
What does the job involve?
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of laboratories and test facilities, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and services, and for ensuring the technical integrity of test equipment, laboratory instruments and facilities. Drives continuous improvement to support business needs, which also involves facilitating the restructuring of test facilities with a view to the future low-carbon society. You use your knowledge in a specific area to perform tasks with short-term impact on / risk to operations. You carry out your assigned work independently, either under guidance, or by following well-defined guidelines and procedures, to achieve goals that are set by others, and that affect your immediate team. You effectively communicate facts, practices and guidelines to individuals in your immediate team, and occasionally to external parties. You follow established procedures, identify and solve problems, work for continuous improvement, are open to change and show flexibility when it comes to introducing new activities and working methods. This is a daytime position with some on-call duties where you are responsible for laboratory operations outside normal working hours (on-call arrangement).
What will my tasks be?
Within this position, your key tasks will be to:
- Perform laboratory tests using various instruments, and ensure accurate and reliable results. This also includes sampling, reporting of results, calibration of instruments and proper control and maintenance of instruments.
- Assist in the training and development of new employees and apprentices in the laboratory, and share knowledge and expertise that ensures they acquire the skills required in the role.
- Perform laboratory analyses and obtain accurate results in accordance with ISO 17025.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement measures in the laboratory unit, identify areas for improvement and implement changes for increased productivity and efficiency.
- Map and document the laboratory's consumption needs, and ensure sufficient supply of necessary materials for good operation of the laboratory.
- Control the performance of online analysis instruments, to ensure that they function as they should and provide accurate results.
- Handle the receipt and dispatch of goods and samples in the laboratory, and ensure proper handling, storage and transport to maintain the integrity of the samples and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
