Job Summary

Scopely is seeking a Lead Artist for the Monopoly GO! team in Barcelona. This role involves partnering with the Art Director to execute artistic vision for Monetisation features, leading concept creation for assets, producing high-quality 2D and 3D art, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The Lead Artist will also manage a multidisciplinary team, foster a collaborative art culture, and contribute to planning and process improvements.

Must Have

  • Partner with Art Director on artistic vision for Monetisation features.
  • Lead creation of concepts and designs for Monetisation-focused assets.
  • Produce high-quality 2D production art for in-game Monetisation assets.
  • Contribute hands-on 3D production art to support Monetisation pipeline.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners on Monetisation features.
  • Define, communicate, and uphold artistic vision for Monetisation features.
  • Lead and manage a small multidisciplinary team of artists.
  • Foster a strong, collaborative art culture.
  • Participate in POD-level planning and represent art needs.
  • Identify inconsistencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work with Art Directors to support overall art team health.
  • 4+ years of experience in Senior level or above.
  • Strong in 2D art.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling using Maya or Blender.
  • Solid understanding of 3D pipelines.
  • Experience developing mass market casual titles on mobile platforms.
  • Experience managing and supporting a live title.
  • Flexible, highly motivated, and approachable.
  • Skilled at articulating and establishing art direction.
  • Proven skills in providing direction, guidance, and mentoring.
  • Eye for detail, able to apply expert level art judgment.
  • Experience managing multiple artists.
  • Good understanding of game art/visual design supporting gameplay, UX, narrative, marketing.
  • Deep understanding of art production pipeline in mobile games.
  • Willingness to embrace and explore AI-powered tools.

Good to Have

  • Experience in working with an IP.
  • Knowledge in working with Unity.
  • Experience with AI-assisted creative tools such as Scenario, ChatGPT, or GeminiAI.

Job Description

What You Will Do

  • Partner closely with the Art Director / Associate Art Director to ensure the high-level artistic vision is executed across Monetisation features and initiatives.
  • Lead the creation of concepts and designs for Monetisation-focused assets, including premium items, cosmetic content, collectables, UI treatments, VFX, and promotional in-game visuals.
  • Produce high-quality 2D production art for in-game Monetisation assets when needed.
  • Contribute hands-on 3D production art to support the Monetisation pipeline, ensuring assets meet quality, performance, and stylistic expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Design, UX, Product, Engineering) to scope, develop, and deliver Monetisation features and content.
  • Clearly define, communicate, and uphold the artistic vision for Monetisation features, providing clear, actionable feedback to artists and partners.
  • Lead and manage a small multidisciplinary team of 2D artists, VFX artists, UI artists, and an animator—including performance reviews, goal setting, and day-to-day coaching.
  • Foster a strong, collaborative art culture that elevates talent, maximizes team impact, and supports proactive cross-discipline collaboration.
  • Participate in POD-level planning and represent art needs in production and feature roadmapping.
  • Identify inconsistencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement within creative and production processes at the POD level, and help drive scalable solutions.
  • Work with the Art Directors to support overall art team health, communication, and long-term development.

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in Senior level or above
  • Strong in 2D
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling using Maya or Blender, with the ability to create final in-game assets when needed.
  • Solid understanding of 3D pipelines and how they support stylized art direction.
  • Experience in developing mass market casual titles on mobile platforms
  • Experience in managing and supporting a live title
  • Proven to be flexible, highly motivated and approachable.
  • Highly skilled at articulating and establishing art direction of features in alignment with the overall art vision of the project
  • Proven skills at providing direction, guidance and mentoring mid/Senior level artists
  • Have An eye for detail, able to apply expert level art judgment on form, perspective, color
  • Experience in managing multiple artists
  • Good understanding of how game art/visual design supports gameplay, UX, narrative and brand positioning / marketing
  • Deep understanding of art production pipeline in mobile games
  • Must have a willingness to embrace and explore AI-powered tools that enhance the art creation process
