Triband is the award-winning studio behind the WHAT THE? comedy game series, which is played by millions worldwide. From our home in central Copenhagen, more than 50 wonderful humans are united by a simple mission: to make everyone laugh.
As a Lead Artist at Triband, you'll join a new game team working on one of our exciting and secret new games. You’ll be part of the early development stages, collaboratively exploring and defining the art vision, and you’ll see the project grow as we ramp up our production and team size in the coming months.
Okay, let’s get more specific. Here’s what you’ll do on a day-to-day
- In collaboration with our Art Director, you’ll explore and nail down the art style and look for a new game, always prioritizing player experiences in everything you create.
- You’ll define the art pipeline, balancing efficiency and speed with creativity and quality.
- You’ll create 3D models and implement them in Unity.
- You’ll create environment art and dress up scenes (lighting, object placements, etc.).
Requirements
- You feel comfortable adapting to and working in an existing art style.
- In the past, you have worked in multiple small teams where proactivity and shared responsibilities were key to good collaboration.
- You have extensive experience working with Unity.
- You have experience using 3D modelling software (we use Blender, but any tool is good).
Nice-to-haves
- You have experience with environmental storytelling.
- In the past, you’ve created game art assets for small screens (optimized for readability and performance).
- You have a gameplay-first mindset, meaning you always think about what art tasks have the most impact on the game and gameplay.
- You have experience using particle systems and creating VFX in Unity.
- You’re interested in using procedural tools, automation, or any other means to increase efficiency in the art pipeline.
- You always apply color theory and composition principles in your work (and can explain them to clueless friends or family members).
Requirements for any job at Triband
- You thrive in taking ownership of your area: you spot problems, seek advice when needed, and implement creative solutions that push projects forward.
- You're motivated by collaboration, mutual respect, inclusiveness, and creativity, and you actively contribute to sustaining that culture.
- You value a positive work environment and contribute to making the studio a fun and supportive place.
- You have team production experience, such as using version control software (we use git), branching, stand-ups, sprints, and reviews.
Practicalities
- We work a 37-hour work week, with flexibility built in so you can balance work and life.
- We work on-site at our cozy office in central Copenhagen.
- No crunch. People over deadlines.
- Our working language is English.
We offer
- Silly projects, and the chance to work on and impact great games that reach millions of players.
- A strong focus on personal growth and professional skill development.
- A playful and ambitious work environment where experimentation is encouraged.
- Friendly and kind colleagues who love making each other laugh as much as making games.
- Paid parental leave, pension plan, and health Insurance (with family coverage available).
- Five weeks of vacation plus five extra days. Child's sick leave.
- Social activities such as hobby nights and Friday bars.
- Daily lunch at a local restaurant with vegetarian/vegan options + soft ice on Thursdays
- And endless amounts of coffee.

WHAT THE TRIBAND?
---------------------
We make people laugh! To do so, we focus on exploring comedy through gameplay. We like to break player expectations, use wonderful music, slick art, and create a quirky atmosphere. We experiment a lot, and it doesn’t always work out, but we always learn something.
We are currently 50+ people of 10+ different nationalities. We put people first and strive to create a safe and creative working environment. We believe that teams, not individuals, make games - and we believe diversity makes for better teams. For these reasons, we look for people who make the team better, bring new perspectives, and will challenge us and our way of doing things!
