The role:
As a
Lead Data Engineer
at Leapwork,
you’ll
help shape how data fuels smarter decisions across the business.
Our data team is building the data architecture to unify, transform, and connect information from many sources into a unified data view.
You’ll
play a key role in designing and building new, scalable data solutions from the ground up,
laying
the foundation for how
Leapwork’s
data ecosystem evolves.

Role Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable data architectures, data warehouses, and ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data engineering tools and best practices,
leveraging
platforms such as
Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or Snowflake
to deliver high-performing, secure, and well-governed data environments.
Take ownership of building core data systems and frameworks in a greenfield environment.
Guide, mentor, and develop data engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
Bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
Manage and
optimize
database performance,
identify
and resolve data performance issues, and ensure data infrastructure
remains
agile and responsive.
Oversee the movement and management of large datasets, ensuring data integrity, quality, and accuracy across different systems.
Role Requirements:
5 years of experience
from
a similar role.
Experience with building or scaling data pipelines, systems, or architectures from early-stage setups or greenfield projects is highly valued.
Capable with handling quick delivery and ensuring quality
Deep knowledge of programming languages like Python, SQL, and Java;
expertise
in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure,
Microsoft Fabric
and
GCP; and experience with big data technologies like Spark and Hadoop.
Strong understanding of data warehousing,
hands on experience
building and
optimizing
ETL/ELT
processes and
designing large-scale data pipelines.
Proven experience in leading technical projects and teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various departments.
Ability to
identify, investigate, and resolve complex database and data processing issues.
A
builder
mindset, comfortable designing, coding, and deploying new data systems where frameworks are still being established.
Ability to work cross-functionally with data architects, analysts, and business teams to deliver aligned, impactful solutions.
Curious and forward-thinking, with enthusiasm for contributing to greenfield projects and modern data engineering practices.
Takes responsibility for the quality, performance, and scalability of data solutions delivered.
